Nice looking wheel. For me, grey wheels get a bit lost on a grey van and I'm nervous of anything with a machined/polished face because they have a habit of developing wheel worm at even the slightest hint of a stone chip. So from those three choices I would go black!

Just my opinion of course but I like them as they are. Had them on my T5. I think if they were black you might lose some of the aesthetic appeal. What about gun metal or silver to keep a bit of contrast? Also, not sure if just getting them painted will stop the wheel-worm? Might be wrong...

    VW Palmerston wheels

Im looking at getting a set of these wheels. Does anyone know if they suffer from the same problems that the vw sportline wheels have with the dreaded worm corroding the finish

    Wheel Worm

If that picture is from the o/s side of the van, the 'worms' are all starting on the leading edge of the spokes so will most likely be from salt spray and other road debris.......i.e. no chance of any warranty. Looking at the tyres I'm assuming this was a low budget set of wheels? Edit -...

    Wheel Worm

Any OEM manufacture only really offers 6 months warrenty on diamond cut wheels. I don't touch wheels full stop but I'm a smart repairer so I see it on all vehicles when I assess damage, Bentleys, Porsche, Ferrari, all normal cars...they all white worm. Its inevitable and cant be be stopped.

    Wheel-arch - Sound-Deadening internally or externally?

While fitting wheel spacers (25mm) this weekend, I took the opportunity to also remove the wheel arch liners and stick Silent Coat to the wheel arches for improved sound proofing. After doing so, I then became concerned that I have perhaps introduced a moisture trap to the underside of my van...

Sold Momo Revenge 20" Alloys Matt Black (t32 Load Rated)

Water gets under the laquer on the polished face and it develops into corrosion (white worm) that ruins wheels, all polished wheels suffer from this

Thanks one and all - quick survey - the wheels on my van are blk/silver diamond cut - the usual 'white worm' is quite bad so I want to get them repaired, the questions is, should i get them painted black to remove the issue happening again or try and get the silver painted back in?? I've got...

    Wheel Worm

Looks like the offside rear to me so would be the leading edge.

    VW Palmerston wheels

They are a nice wheel Palmerston. Shame about the sport lines. I’ve seen the worm issue before. Unsure if it’s salt though to blame 100% I don’t think those dodgy car washes with the acid helps either.

  13. The Van Cave

    Had the van detailed today.

...all through winter and about 10000 miles of filth, but they still look good. Get close and you’ll notice a few stone chips etc, but no wheel worm or lacquer problems apart from where I quite badly curbed one . Any wheels of any colour would be showing the same signs after the conditions...

Permission To Replace Wheels And Tyres

I think it may be an age thing but I love polished face alloys and got a set of Momo Revenge in that finish, sadly after a year the white wiggly worms are gnawing at some of the edges already. Problem then is do you strip off the clear coat and polish the alloy from that point on or paint the...

    Camper King

Still loving the van and now spending way to much money on i rather than using it!t I would suggest you check the warranty period on the wheels if they are diamond cut and see if you can get it extended - or even better, ask for non diamond cut wheels; mine have started to develop, after 18...

SWB vs LWB: Pros and cons

T32 does allow a bit of extra weight but is does make life more difficult if you want to change to aftermarket wheels. Load ratings for those and tyres are less available. I personally went T30 as it was the best compromise and guaranteed I could get motorcaravan status on the V5, this is...
