Reversing Camera - wiring harness route

You only have a 70ah leisure battery, which is about as small as they get. A 100w panel will generate a peak charging current somewhere around 7-8 amps which is about right for charging that capacity battery (0.1C)

    Do i need solar?

It's amazing what a different a couple of months makes, in Jan I was struggling to put back in the charge that my router was using, now I'm seeing 100w minimum before 10am and I'm back full by then too!

What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

...(not Solar rechargeable with my setup). On the Solar point. Suprised today how despite blazing clear sunshine (lovely day in north wales) two 100w panels only pulled 50-75w of power. Even disconnect each in turn proving that indeed each panel pulling half of that number. I know never likely...

Solar for Keeping the Battery Topped Up

you will need 50-100w to fit on the dash inside the van due to size, you will need 8A max if running via a 12v socket (so 100w panel) - or the socket will melt. you need a solar panel that comes with a solar controller - either PWM or MPPT. any battery connection need to be fused - a lot of...

Is a 100w Solar Panel suitable

Hi I am looking at a 100w solar panel kit, is this suitable?? My van has a 12v fridge, LEDs, USB charging points and there is a 12v TV, would the solar system provide enough power for this probably for no more than a day or two?? Thanks

    Power station or collapsible solar.

...to charge the powerstation. You can quite often get these on deals with the powerstation. A folding one for easy storage etc. You would want 100w plus really. A 240v 20A charger that can hook up and charge your main leisure battery. That's if you have a lithium battery. Guessing there are...

Just sikaflex to the roof … it’s forever going to have a panel on it … his method was seriously flawed

    Benidorm or bust

...order another from Renogy to replace it? Another option could be to buy a folding suitcase panel. My panel failed this summer and so used a 100w Renogy suitcase (the suitcase not the cheap heavy folding panel they do) as a temporary fix. Worked really well & will keep in van in pop top for...

Black Friday: Deals & What Have You Bought or Buying?

In fairness if I didn't go with the Mrs I think I could manage without gas! Her and her tea consumption! The latest purchase of the Joolca Nomad ensures we need gas for the foreseeable! I'm just glad I fill the 907's myself... Always taking a full 907 out takes the stress away.

    Various Discounts Go Here:

The folding 100w Renogy Solar Panel is currently £65 on Amazon. It's not as cool as the folding fabric based ones but it's solidly built and ideal if you want to dabble in some self sufficient power if you have a LiFePo power pack. Mines been doing good service over the summer for this. Being...

2x 100w panels enough to power diesel heating electronics through darkest, cloudiest winter months in the UK?

My brother has over 6kW of solar panels on the roof of his house. Yesterday he got 100W max out of them. Pete

A couple of solar panels going £120 cheap(er)

I originally had a 100W panel on, which was full width but a lot shorter, I changed that for a 200W one for more output, the vinyl meant I could remove it easily and left no marks on the roof, the 200W panel lasted 3 years before it just stopped working, which is where we are now and replacing...

    Compressor fridge wiring

...year used 6 R907 cylinders and that was nothing only the fridge, this year we are fitting a compressor fridge so as to get Away from the gas. Have thought about solar but with the shape of the LeisureDrive roof 100w flexi would be my guess at max and they don't give back much after September. 👍

Charging e-bike from leisure battery: blown fuse

The 12v socket is for 100w max. Below 80w ideally. For 200w you need to connect direct to the leisure battery with a fuse. ..... What size fuse was it that burned out? Which 12v socket? Post some pics It's possible that the cable may have burned or melted if wrong size fuse was fitted?

    Dellmassive`s Camper Van Adventure

Two seatbase batteries?!?, bloody hellfire you're going to end up with more lithium on board than an ID Buzz at this rate... Good plan topping up the EcoFlow, though in my book I'd never describe 100w as "trickle charge" :p
