    What/how does regeneration work?

...regeneration thing. You can also press a little button and it will count out the number of grams of soot in your filter. It's a handy device as you know when you are regenerating and can drive the long way round until it concludes instead of shutting the engine down and risking oil dilution...

    Wash & Wax Time . . . . . . But Which One And How?

Right, I'm gonna say it......... Snowfoam looks great, impresses the neighbours and makes kids laugh. But I'm not doing it again. Today I put my usual snowfoam solution in a knapsack sprayer, diluted it and sprayed the van all over. Then I went over it again to make sure I hadn't missed...

    110PS - which oil?

Thanks for the replies. What is concerning is that when I picked it up after its annual service at 27k kms it was noticeably quieter. Which indicates the oil is either diluting or breaking down.

T6.1 Reduce Oil Warning - Warranty Implications

...theyre having to remove oil twice then you've got an actual fault somewhere that has caused the oil level to rise again. Quite likely a fuel dilution problem, and switches and valves wont cure it. Opening and closing the bonnet clears the message, but does not fix the fault or stop the...

    Oil specs - 2021 199bhp 4mo Caravelle

Search with ‘oil level’, it’s a known issue, possibly due to fuel dilution. If it is due to fuel dilution you need to act to prevent engine damage.

Put small amount of Redex Diesel Cleaner in Adblue tank by mistake

...plug underneath. Hopefully, VW has this on the T6 as well.... Basically, you need to drop the tank and find the drain plug. The system will do a check consistently to check the dilution level (i think 33% but can't remember), you can check this with VCDS/OBD11 as well by reading the data values.

What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Replaced windscreen wipers with Bosch Aerotwin A351S wipers just in time for Storm Chandra to give them a good test. Also sucked out most of my partially diluted engine oil due to interrupted DPF regens and topped back up to below halfway on the dipstick with some shiny new Castrol EDGE 5W-30...

    T6 204 DSG 4Motion DPF removal

This is an awesome thread. I've been planning to tackle this in a few weeks so all the information is really useful. Ash is my issue. I was planning on using HCl and NaOH (diluted ) as per lots of online and YouTube recommendations. I have the Wynn's cleaner also at the ready so will be...

    Reduce oil level call workshop.

Wayne is wise. Examples of 6's or 6.1's with positively confirmed oil dilution issues are rare indeed. Oil has quite a high coefficient of expansion, and combined with sensors of questionable design and software that may not be up to the job (even the revised software often fails to fix the...

T6.1 Reduce oil level and Oil dilution

Yeah wasn't much though, but as it's not a recall they charge for it. But it hasn't come back 🤞🏼

Hello from a possible new T6 owner!

...consequences of doing repeated short journeys in our Diesel Honda CR-V and know many folks who’ve had similar problems with repeatedly driving short distances in their Diesel cars. The cost of forced regens, dealing with oil dilution, replacing DPFs, EGR valves and turbos can be eye-watering.

    AdBlue - How To

Seeing as how it is a slightly diluted urea mix (urea and deionised water (same as in car batteries in the old days)), chances are it just burns/kills whatever plant/animals/bacteria it touches but after a few rains adds a nice amount of nitrogen to the soil. In theory. Unfortunately, soil...

    VW T6

...It this is the case, which is most likely, there is a software patch but it doesnt always work so keeping the lefel no higher than 1/2 is prudent. If it does rise, less likely but does happen, if may be an oil dilution issue. Either way, you need to resrt the lefle and monitor for a spell.

Oh that's good news then, is the t6.1 150 a different engine then?. It must of been those I saw having dilution issues. Thanks

DPF Regen Frequency / Issues / Force discussion.

It’s fine to switch off once the revs drop to normal. This negates the risk of oil dilution due to fuel from the regen. Next time you drive the van it will carry on with the regen. I have checked this many times since the tech told me using vcds and mostly VAG DPF. Edit: Idling does not...

    Manually Start A Regen

...I've stopped, it interrupts the regen and the revs drop from the regen 1000rpm to the normal 800rpm then wait another 30 secs or so. This means what I turn off the van isnt injecting diesel so reduces the risk of oil dilution. The van completes the regen as soon as I set off on the next journey.
