    Unleaded Fuel In Diesel

I was on empty last night out about 12litres of unleaded in and realised. Fill the remainder of tank with Diesel and travelled the 6 miles home. Seemed to be ok. I have a 2016 shuttle 204dsg. I’m now wondering should i call out a misfuel company to drain it or do as I’ve read online and add some...

    2016 180PS Bi-TDi CFCA engine failure

This is all really interesting. Here is my oil analysis from March. This was as I picked the van up. Since then its had a flush, three oil changes, and new dpf and a blocked and mapped out egr. Based on the service history the oil had only done a 6k miles. Miller's guy said "As you are...

T6.1 oil level warning: Reduce Oil Level!

If in doubt change it, ideally get an oil analysis done beforehand and amongst other things it will reveal how much fuel dilution. If you don’t have an oil analysis kit available just change it.

    Oil level too high’ warning

How can my oil be diluted , when it hasn’t risen at all in the months it’s stated “oil level too high”

    2016 180PS Bi-TDi CFCA engine failure

As per Millers comment, ' aluminium to be at the limit', 30ppm is where Millers suggest is the upper limit before some critical action is required to avoid further bore damage

    Low Oil Warning

Just had the manual out and done an amazon order so will be able to top up tomorrow before I go Tuesday. Caught me by surprise this as my previous vehicle was always having oil dilution issues with the dpf cycle, always had too much oil!

T6.1 oil level warning: Reduce Oil Level!

Exactly the same experiences; Went back and forth with the main dealership. They now only seem to fill to 70%(ish) as they are aware of the problem. Had been awaiting an update to reduce the Regen rate but appears to have never arrived as I presume that doesn’t meet their emissions guidelines.

    - 204ps Bi-Turbo CXEB T6 Engine & Turbo problems -

...Block/Piston wear." so . . . . 1a - A power remap may push the turbo and engine harder, as an example higher fuelling will add to oil dilution. . . so to counter this i would say oil changes need to be more frequent. higher turbo pressures may have some effect the system, as will higher...

    Unleaded Fuel In Diesel

When you add injector cleaner (150mL of alcohol) to a full tank of fuel it states not to add more than one bottle, reason being that it is a solvent. You’ve added 15000 mL of something almost as solvent. Aside from fuel system lubrication there is the issue of detonation (knocking) and...

    Pre-emptive Diesel Engine Maintenance

A damaged pump distributes debris into injectors, damaged injectors no long meter fuel / seal, cylinder wash, fuel dilution of engine oil……. So when changing a fuel filter and using a piece of dirty rag or priming it with some ‘clean’ fuel it can cause a huge amount of damage.

If a t6 shuttle has limited service history

I doubt a main dealer or any other car saleman would be flagging a problem, just the opposite. I’m not a believer in the VW Extended Service interval but from what you’ve described somebody has taken that to the extreme and beyond. Depending on the engine code £10-14K is a figure that pops up...

Why is my 204PS so thirsty?

180ps, 2016 MY, Euro 5. I‘ve never needed to top up between oil changes. Physically checking your oil is a very good habit to get into, you might just catch fuel dilution / coolant emulsification before it damages your engine. Unless you have an external leak the consumed oil is ending up...

T6.1 oil level warning: Reduce Oil Level!

If the software issue is causing fuel dilution of the sump oil it will eventually become a terminal hardware issue. The earlier comment regarding the AA removing 1L of oil to get the dipstick level down to 50% should be worrying as the total oil capacity is 7L. See earlier content in the thread...

T6.1 oil level warning: Reduce Oil Level!

Your oil is being diluted with diesel from a regeneration not being finished. Very common fault with this engine. I’ve had no end of hassle with this my T6 has been back in my local VW specialist 7 times now, they had it for a week one time. Now admitting there’s nothing more they can do until...

A recurring oil issue on T6,1.

Search with ‘oil level’, this is a common issue and you’ll find the answers there. How much ‘slightly above max’? Google Translate will get you through any language issues, even if it doesn’t it should be obvious that you need an oil change / level reduction.

    DPF regen every 10 km

Burning oil will creating soot which will block the DPF and EGR. It will also foul the injectors and cause incomplete combustion creating yet more soot. Check you don’t have an external oil leak such as crankshaft seal failure. A compression test will reveal any cylinder / piston damage...

    Seeking non-VW advice

Car is now back from repair. It actually needed 2 new injectors, but I got them to replace 3 (the fourth one was replaced at the end of last year, so all 4 are now new). It also needed an oil change as it was badly diluted with fuel - this pic shows just how much unburnt fuel was passing...

T6.1 oil level warning: Reduce Oil Level!

Some oil manufacturers talk about a safe or acceptable level of oil dilution caused by diesel finding its way into the oil, of about 3%. When you've got people on this forum describing the oil level rising so much that a litre of contaminated oil has to be removed in an engine which should hold...

    2016 180PS Bi-TDi CFCA engine failure

Hi Mark Looks like you have taken the correct approach in getting a set of compression readings and an oil sample analysis but DXX is correct in his comments the components affected can only deteriorate to a point of failure how long is the question? The iron content is probably from the worn...

[Resolved] T6 Oil level too high

Silver VW assist van now here. They were super quick. Guy says that he sees it all the time especially on vans going regular shorter journeys. Says exactly what has been said earlier I this thread. DPF can dump some fuel into the oil when it's cleaning itself out. Said he's sees this regular...
