For the loads you have described, 50A charging capacity from the multiplus seems massive overkill.
What's going to discharge your leisure battery completely so that you need to fully charge it overnight?
For similar sorts of loads, I have the following
Consumer unit under the bonnet.
Victron...
Hi everyone,
I’ve been reading through @Dellmassive guides and it’s just blowing my mind .
So my current setup is victronOriondc-dc charger without 240v etc.
My aim is to literally just run 1 wire from my house to my van (traditional camping lead)
just to top the starter and the leisure...
I'm part way through doing exactly what you are looking to do. I've already got the VictronOrion XS 50 DC to DC charger in and working in place of the split charge relay. I've just replaced the mains charger I had which wasn't lithium compatible with a Victron IP67 one. My new Fogstar 100Ah...
Interesting setup, thanks for sharing. I have gone to the same Victron and next will be a lithium. I was completely unaware of issues with the Sargent and lithium. I guess you could hardwire a better / smarter charger into the Sargent and connect that to the lithium? I use the Ablemail AMT for B2B.

Presumably that feeds back to the LB somehow, so yeah all you need is the Ablemail right next to the DC-DC, one positive on the input wire that goes to the DC-DC, one on the output wire that goes to the LB, and the negative to chassis ground or your negative connection.
@Jamesie Snap. Like you I’m currently in the process of installing a VictronOrion XS DC-DC charger, Ablemail ABT12-2 maintainer annd a Smart Shunt into my camper. Also, like you I didn’t have any BMS device fitted on the -ve terminal of the auxiliary battery.
I’ve just got to figure out...
Hi @Dellmassive I'm looking for a bit of advice as you seem to have evaluated the latest version of the Renogy IP67-50a dc dc charger with MPPT
My current van is a 2023 MAN TGE which has considerable drain on the starter battery whenever the van is unlocked, door opened etc. which results in...
Hi, nice setup, looking at fogstar as well with a Ablemail AMT12-2 did you just wire this in to the dc to dc charger mines in the same position but wonder if the wires will fit into the charger. Thanks
Much appreciated, was thinking of the little Victron 18amp one. Will try and decipher the wiring diagrams before I do anything drastic.
My power needs are quite modest so the 18amp jobbie would be plenty.
Orion XS is back in stock at 12v planet...

Typically I paid 30 quid more for one a week or 2 ago as it didn't look like any stock would be available for weeks, if not months!
Just realised that the bluetti charger 1 is 560w which would be too high for my solar input on my battery. Do you know what that Victron is? I agree I would rather pay more than have cheap stuff. I didn't realise there were many other options like this one
So,
Shopping list-
-Crimping tool and crimps (is this what they are called?) connectors.
-Wire 3mm for AMT to DC DC
-Wire 10mm x 2 DC to DC
-Oriondc-dc
-amt ablemail
Somewhere was mentioned switch and fuse, what and where am I looking to have these?
And sequence…..
Drivers seat out...
as above. .
The VictronOrionDC-DC ONLY detects temperature from a seperate additional device.
with my setup i used the Victron BMV712 Shunt with the additional TEMP sensor . . the temp was then shared via a local BT network so the Orion charger could get the temps.

Wondering how 9-13 (permanent) and 10-11 (ignition switched) 12V pins work in real life through a journey. Having the smart alternator means the onboard 12V is different based on starter battery SoC but are these trailer pins somewhat regulated 12V or reflect exactly what the alternator does...
you need to use very low settings for the VictronOrionDC-DC charger.
when you use the auto run engine dectection.
i have one in each of our vans.

I’ll also be listing later tonight:
2 x VictronOrion smart 12v 30a dc-dc chargers
1 x Victron 12v 30a mains charger (used 2 or 3 times only)
1 x NDS 100w light solar panel with rear cable entry. (Only taken out of box for pictures)
This is all top quality kit and I’m willing to do a deal on...
Hi everyone
I’m about to start work on wiring the battery to battery charger system in my van and would like a bit of extra peace of mind before jumping into it.
The victron components I am using are:
Orion-Tr smart 12/12 - 30 non-isolated DC/DC charger
Smart shunt 500A/50mV
I’ve decided I...
