I’ve haven’t heard of it being an issue with a CFCA, I’ve got approx’ 56K miles on mine without issues. Possibly because there may be less vibration than other engines due to the balancer shafts. If you’ve had an engine rebuild the leakage could be elsewhere, best find it sooner than later.

Maybe it's not your van or coming from outside in? If you have window ajar and another van is using their diesel heater it wouldn't take much for your own fumes or theirs to seep back in, if you're down wind from someone else or a still night for your own fumes. If any of that makes sense Also...
