Just in case I’ve caused any confusion (on another thread).... the setup I had fitted by Steve and his team was the H&R Coilover kit, which as I understand uses Koni dampers.... hence the H&R/Koni label. You can definitely use H&R lowering springs with a set of Koni dampers, but obviously Steve...
Leighton T6 Transporter Kombi BiTDI DSG 204 PS - LWB 69,750 miles, £32,000
2 previous owners. Full service history - this has been a very well looked after T6
The ultmiate family or adventure vehicle and has been great for holidays across the UK with 3 kids and bikes/paddleboards! Kombi...
I met the very friendly Big V guys at Busfest recently…. amazing looking vans on air, but for ‘real life’ everyday practicalities, Steve is definitely your man. I’m not sure what the difference’s are between the KW and the Koni setup, but you can’t go wrong with Steve’s advice.
It is a difficult call because what I have learnt over the last 2 years and working on over a 1000 vans which I personally test drive is that ride comfort is impossible to quantify and every customer has a different opinion .
the special active is definitely more comfortable by definition due...
There is one kit that is often overlooked in the coil over market which is flooded with tons of kits that pretty much all come from the same place and are all based on a sleeve over concept ( cheapest way to make a shock height adjustable) . There are a few issues with the design...
2019 199 T6 Caravelle Executive 4Motion, DSG, with Differential Lock LED Lighting
Like the LED Head Lights but HID would have been preferable, which are superior in many ways IMO. Do not trust or use automatic setting prefer to use manual adjustment of what lamp to use from DRL to Lighting up...
I dont seem to find enough time to update the forum on our progress, but we will try to improve on this as the new facility comes on board in the new year .
Apart from the constant flow of Transporters which keep us busy most days, this week we have shipped out 4 x Audi RS...
Hi Steve! Thank you for the response. I was looking at the Vogtland stuff because many moons ago I had a set of springs on my T4. They seemed pretty good! But I am of course no expert and what was on there originally was definitely crap.
After a very quick read, the Koni (ia assume?!) does...
Cheers.....I keep thinking of going lower & getting koni's or similar....
But then I keep seeing swamper type wheels & also like the look of them, so am still deciding, quite happy with it as it is at the moment and am concentrating on finishing off the inside
I’ve been running the KONI shock and Evo Technik spring on my SWB T30 for 3 months now and I thought I’d share my view. I was coming from Eibach sportline springs which are a 30mm drop and I found them very harsh. I opted for a moderate 50mm drop as I wanted to improve comfort over the Eibach...
The Stance Kits are incredible value for money, especially the Street versions. If your budget does not reach the Bilstein or the Koni/H&R route it is definitely worth considering the Stance.
Thanks for the reply, the guy doing a lap of the ring sounds interesting, I'd like to hear more about that.
I'm currently dropped on -50mm H&R springs and standard shocks with 275/40/20 tyres, that's low enough for me with minor rub on the arch liners at full lock.
It's 'crashy' as you can...
Hi everyone, I've been wandering around the forum for a few weeks now and having taken delivery of my van on Friday last week I thought I'd break cover and say hello.
My van is a New Wave / Status 1 collaboration, converted from a 2021 6.1 Indium Grey T28 Highline and I love it. This is my...
Thanks for your reply people...much appreciated!
Think I'll get some winters fitted to the 16's.
Will there be alot of difference in side wall bounce/roll from the C commercial grade tyres I have fitted compared to a 102 load rated I can fit. Done a fair bit of google....ing and can't find a...
Been across to Steve @CRS Performance this afternoon to get my T6.1 lowered. I went with the Koni/H&R coilovers down around 70mm, keeping my davenport alloys for a while but may change at a later date.
The drive home was much better on the Koni/H&R’s, doesn’t feel like I’m on a boat now. I...
I feel your pain going through exactly the same. My top mounts failed and I found as you did the installer had used the incorrect nuts.
Changes the mounts, correct nuts, didn’t change the top plates (but have ordered some anyway) but did the top nut, changed longer drop rods as I’m on air...
This is why my company has bought my LV T6 with absolutely everything spec'd in it, I plan to keep it at 4 years old and use it as a second vehicle for work if needed.
I'll probably upgrade the Konis and lowered springs to air suspenders, definitely getting Ovano for both work use and leisure...
