    Sad day, even more money.

...previous works inc brand new sport line wheels, well looked after. All work was previously carried out by main dealers so I've just kept that up with new cambelt and EGR. The service manager took a keen interest it yesterday and said they've had a look over it and said its mint considering...

    For Sale Swap my wheels?

...looking at a different style. Looked at rotiform krp wheels like this But they're £1,200 without tyres. I've also just been hit with an £1,810 bill for cambelt, waterpump, flywheel, clutch and wheel bearing. Mrs wants a holiday badly, hence why she doesn't want me spending money on new...

New to VW Campervans and this forum

Hold off on that one pal. Have a search on the site for the cambelt thread. You no longer need to do it based on age, its based on mileage (125k from memory) Oh, and welcome along!

    CHANGING THE BATTERY ON A 2016 T6

I have had a similar issue on a previous VW where I would get a start stop error and the power steering would drop out when the error was showing, this only showed up a voltage low issue on a diagnostics. Turned out to be a faulty voltage regulator like this https://ebay.us/m/Pysea9

    Cam-belt change

...gently mugged as when I walked into that VW showroom. They literally saw me coming through those massive plate glass windows. Anyway - back to the cambelt, if it was purely on mileage and someone is only doing a five thousand miles a year - is one cambelt really going to last the life of the...

How to know what's a good price when buying your first VW Campervan?

Looks a touch pricy for me that, mines only got 105k fully insulated/carpeted, Serviced every12months, cambelt/prop shaft and haldex all done recently, heated seats, diff lock, tailgate etc and I think I’d be lucky get 15k-16k. Add a basic fit out and pop top to it and still wouldn’t get to the...

Is it worth getting a poptop installed in a high mileage van?

Getting towed home (hopefully soon) and on Monday will ring the guys who were going to do my cambelt week after next and get them to do the lot (hopefully there's no other damage done 🤞) And of all the places for this to happen, it happened at the same place I had my burst coolant pipe -...

Broken pulley - repair with warranty question

80k miles / looking to buy / cambelt?

Yeah, it's a shame as its a nice LWB which seem rare (for my budget anyhow) but he won't budge a penny off the price and not changing the cambelt as a gesture either. Whatever happened to the old days of haggling!

New Transporter - first official pic

...consumers’ ignorance. They’re probably working on the basis that by the time their customers have to take out a mortgage to pay to have their cambelts replaced or realise their motorhome’s trade-in value is next to nothing, they’ll be part of a Chinese-owned company building motorhomes on...

What sort of price am i looking at and does this seem about right?

Sounds about right to me i had dual mass and clutch done few years back on my caddy was around the £1000 mark if I remember rightly! So cambelt and water pump on top seems a fair price

Next “All In Plan” offer… Any idea?

...(or £825 total) under the previous discount they ran in September. More than paid for itself on the previous 2 year period where it was cheaper than it is now. Got majority of costs covered on front main oil leak and as they were doing that got the cambelt done for price of parts only.

    Cambelt

I recently got a new campervan, it had a new cambelt (and water pump) fitted just prior to delivery, as it was due for a new one. I looked on the service sheet and it says Egerton Garage at Stretford. Hope you are enjoying your new van :)
