I considered the MIB2 option, but I already had the MIB3 unit purchased, and wirelessCarPlay and losing the USB Type-C configuration made me continue with the MIB3.
I use some sort of wirelessCarPlay adaptor which works fine in the van with the Discover Media unit, but I am not very good at keeping my phone charged so inevitably end up plugging it in anyway.

To solve this I velcro'd one of the wireless chargers onto my phone holder and plugged that into the USB. Bit of cabling visible but it works. I'm on iPhone.
Quick test: I turned off Location Services from iPhone and Magic Earth in CarPlay was not able to get GPS anymore.
Alas, CarPlay apps in T6 with Discover Media and Ottocast wirelessCarPlay dongle are not able to utilize Discover Media built-in GPS.
