Hello from a possible new T6 owner!

I don't think any of my work vans have had DPF, we run them into the ground, hense why a couple of seized injectors forced my employer to buy another van. It all sounds a bit scary if I'm honest.

I don't know where the oil was going - no leaks - no smoke from exhaust- engine sounded fine - the 2 so called vw specialist did no oil analysis My mate is a mechanic says possible bearings or bores are worn....it wore me down....yes these are highly tuned diesel engines with life expectancy of...

T6.1 Reduce oil level and Oil dilution

Mine (poverty plus business pack) has been fine since draining out about 600ml. No evidence of dilution or contamination, thenoil smells ok and it isnt rising, it just didn't tolerate the standard issue slight overfill that seems common practice among garages these days.

    For Sale VW logo coasters

Can do! The young lad is concerned that the black background would “dilute” the impact of the blue. He’s configuring it on his computer now and I’ll let you know

Buying advice for this 2017 T6 150 I've seen today please

...volume. This is not uncommon and it's not restricted to VW engines. Have a read of some of these threads for a better understanding of oil dilution; https://www.t6forum.com/search/2778894/?q=oil+dilution&o=relevance Oil on and around the oil filter housing wouldn't worry me too much, it's...

    I'm in!!!

Welcome to the Forum, there's plenty on here about oil dilution and DPF issues!

Is safe delete DPF and Adblue?

Kind of what I’m doing currently to be honest. Pre-empting at the moment as my regen frequency is the biggest red flag indicating it’s getting blocked. But such frequent regens also bring their own problems right? Like a rather unreasonable MPG and oil dilution?

T6 Flashing Coil light - NO FAULT CODES

Fuel dilution seems to be a common issue, 2% caution level, 4% alert level. Results in sub-standard lubrication on what is a fairly highly tuned diesel engine

Coolant level low. What to top it up with?

Sorry, got the impression you had no choice but to drive today. Order online for next day delivery if concerned about dilution.

T6.1 too much oil warning - how worried should I be?

...OK. If the oil is black / brown (no water emulsification) and the oil level is rising without anybody adding oil it is due to fuel dilution. Fuel dilution at just 2% will damage an engine / turbochargers. Have a search, the info’ is posted. If you suspect fuel dilution you have three choices...

CXEB engine rebuild advice – oil consumption, piston & rings replacement?

Where did you got a brand new engine and how much did it cost? Also did the new engine come with any upgraded parts? How can we know that if we invest in a new engine or a rebuild this issue won't happen again in 50 k km ?

T6.1 Reduce oil level and Oil dilution

This explains it better than I could… Oil dilution - diesel in oil and petrol in oil.

T6.1 Reduce oil level and Oil dilution

From reading this, I would certainly want to change the oil if it has been diluted by fuel. To not do so risks excessive engine wear by the sounds of it. So why are dealers just siphoning off the excess? @Ian Watt, what did VW assist say?

T6.1 Reduce oil level and Oil dilution

...not) I'm also sending oil sample off as I've had the van 5 months, and do mostly short journeys so need to be aware if the dpf is causing too much dilution with the oil. I have a dpf monitor app so will be trying to avoid turning engine off mid regen...not always possible on the nursery run...

T6.1 Reduce Oil Warning - Warranty Implications

...seems consistent so far with no regens taking place, and I have noticed a different in level between hot and cold oil. My two concerns are warranty implications and damage from previous fuel dilutions. I guess both of those will both be answered with the oil analysis result and response from VW.

    Dipstick Reading High

...sense now. Would you say I'm best to just do an oil/filter change to be safe, note the new oil level and monitor it. No need for oil tests etc if dilution issues isn't a big thing with the t6 engine. Most likely just been filled slightly too much during the last service perhaps. Thanks Paul

    Some advice please

Aye, any higher than halfway and mine starts lying through its teeth. Im happy im not suffering any oil dilution and the level remains rock steady, so,I just ignore the occasional warning. There is apparently a software fix but feedback is that it doesnt always do the trick anyway, so knowing...

T6.1 Reduce Oil Warning - Warranty Implications

...check the level regularly for a while and see if changes. Only then will you know if your van has Lying Bas***d syndrome (likely) or if you genuinely have an oil dilution problem (much less likely, but it does happen.) Mucking about monitoring regens is pointless until you've checked the...

Stopping engine half way through regeneration

...engine whilst it is doing a regen then it will leave extra unburnt diesel in the cylinders. This then drains past the piston rings and cause fuel dilution of the engine oil. Better to go for a drive until the regen stops or at least to wait until the revs drop to a normal level before turning...
