[Guide] Renogy IP67 50A DC-DC Charger + MPPT (for leisure battery) -- How We Done It --

...output then a 60A fuse on that cable is a bit better but ideally a 50A fuse and then throttle back your B2B as you're going to have solar input too I assume. I've got the DCC50S and that outputs at 30A now as I cooked the first one I had, this later model does have deeper cooling heatsink...

    DC-DC charger

Our Renogy DCC50S has two inputs, one from the starter battery and one from the solar panels. The starter battery won't charge the leisure battery unless the engine is running and the smart alternator is producing an high enough voltage to do the trick. I've got a standalone Victron smart...

Fogstar 230ah seat base battery set up help

...and price yourself up the main items as the wiring links supplied can only be a guess at the ideal layout in your van. Again a Renogy DCC50S at the same price as that Orion will include an MPPT as well as B2B so you only have to add solar panels and you're off grid. Not saying £780 is a rip...

Seat Base Electric + EHU + Solar Install + Charger + DC-DC -- How We Done it --

...for that live busbar and fuse array but if not, as you say, whack in an inline fuse and holder. Pretty tidy install and I reckon if you mount the DCC50S the other way around on the base front then you'll be able to see the charger state LEDs and get a second battery in that...

    leisure battery set up

230Ah Roamer seatbase battery, Renogy DCC50S, Renogy smart shunt and an assortment of fuse types and sizes all under the drivers seat. You really ought to take the time to at least speed through the various threads as it saves a lot of buying twice on such a scope creep type of project.

    Power bank charging

I reckon that's about right, my Renogy DCC50S takes a solar input too, mixes that 21 volts in and spurts out up to 50A at about 14 volts into the Roamer Seat Base battery. :geek:

DC - DC charger with MPPT question / options

...having a separate MPPT as space is limited. I have just seen this product, but i can't see if it will be compatible with a smart alternator ( VW T6 2018 Start Stop) does anyone know? - DCC50S 12V 50A DC-DC On-Board Battery Charger with MPPT(New Version) Any suggestions of other units...

    T6 camper wiring diagram

Is a seperate charger required for AC to DC? I haven't seen much on this. I have a renogy DCC50S B2B with MPPT. I assumed I could just run a cable from consumer unit to input on B2B... DO I need to buy another thing?! hehe

Any good deals on leisure batteries?

on hold on maybe it does.... "If the service battery type is set to lithium, the DCC50S will stop charging the service battery when its temperature is lower than 1˚C, and recover to charge when it's higher than 3˚C. The DCC50S utilizes Maximum Power Point Tracking technology to extract maximum...

...fuse array as the 20A ANL fuse will protect it. I'll bung a 30 or 40 amp mega fuse in the array to make it live. Cool With regards to the DCC50S being the other way around... If it comes to the point that I need more power I'll consider a second battery option, but I won't be pulling much...

    Roamer 144 - under seat?

If you're talking about the B2B charger then that was what I was doing in the picture I posted earlier, swapping out a busted Renogy DCC50S MK1 for a later version with larger heatsink fins. I ran the first B2B at 50A which was it's limit so a bit rough with it, the current version is throttled...

Lithium LifePo4 12v Batteries - Time For An Upgrade?

263w from 350w of panels? Not too shabby! Actually, can the DCC50S even handle 350w? 350w \ 13.8 is just over 25a so yeah, just!

Lithium LifePo4 12v Batteries - Time For An Upgrade?

That's the Roamer 230Ah seatbase battery and the current version of the Renogy DCC50S which has a taller heat sink... the first DCC50S sadly conked out. A couple of years back @Long tall John calmed me down a bit when I was planning my setup when he pointed out that his 105Ah lifp battery and...

    Renogy DCC50S Display

...the above, very rough, buggy, unfinished state it did it's job and I confirmed my suspicions that I had there definitely was an issue with my DCC50S. It's literally only the last week I have revisited the project with a view to getting it to a more finished state, with my efforts, so far...

...12 Volt side of things can either be wire conductors or the vehicles metal body whichever is easier and these obviously won't be fused.
