Out of interest, what happens when you plug the phone in when it’s connected via the dongle? Is there a conflict, or do you have to unplug the dongle?

Thanks. By garage you mean the dealer? When on the phone to VWFS they were the ones that told me id I cancelled the policy I had to renew even still on the same phone call that the 30 day rule would apply. I've even questioned it ans she was adamant it would apply.

Another Quadlock user here, combined with a Brodit mount. I did find that with the Quadlock magsafe charger, the USB-C output did not produce enough power to charge the phone, however it is fine connected directly to the phone.

Do you have a part number for the charger? did you happen to take some photos of your gear knob swap? Does your van have the S mode, if not does this affect the fit up?

To solve this I velcro'd one of the wireless chargers onto my phone holder and plugged that into the USB. Bit of cabling visible but it works. I'm on iPhone.
