Repairing of rusty patches forming on sliding door paintwork

...too had the same NEGATIVE response from the same Cleckheaton Van Centre, the same van centre from where I purchased said van from in 2016 shelling out £36K. Within 20seconds of viewing " Zinc Inclusion" and not covered by the 12 year corrosion warranty. I read that you addressed the issue...

    Brake caliper painting

If you want a 100% durable finish get them zinc metal sprayed, obviously only one colour and they would need to be stripped.

    Are EVs the way forward?

For reasons that I don't understand, China gets a free pass from the rest of the world on certain things, like forgetting to notify the WHO about a pandemic that started there until it had already spread globally, opening 2 new coal power stations every week, Human Rights abuses, to name a few...

Brakes were sorted out with a zinc galv spray on the disks, and foliatec stratos silver for the calipers. Used these in the past with good results tbh. Should keep them looking good...

    Are EVs the way forward?

I’m not sure anyone stands out as an EV supporter but we can see they have their purposes as part of the answer. Likewise I could say have any of the I've supporters considered the damage caused at drilling sites and that oil sales support Putins war (isn’t that why the West stopped buying it...

Paint bubbling horror found under side step.

Thanks for the tips @Niknak Would NO NONSENSE ZINC GALVANISING SPRAY PAINT SILVER 400ML be OK? Do I need a topcoat as it's gonna be hidden once the side step is put back?

    The Touch Up Paint Factory

I'd be concerned about the pen tip drying up or getting damaged. I'd go for the pot with brushes. Like @dubber36 says, the colour is key. As an aside, for those of us with reflex silver, I've found Zinc Primer from Screwfix is an excellent filler and colour match for deeper damage.

Rust blisters and is a ceramic coating worth it?

That looks like zinc inclusion to me. I had a Passat that suffered from this. It was a warranty job.

Our flap hinges are marine-grade stainless steel (most use zinc-plated, which don’t last as well and are prone to snapping). The bulkhead is held with Dyneema-cored line – lighter, neater, and significantly...

2016 T6: Zinc inclusion in paintwork, warranty won't cover it

Hi, I'm wondering whether I've got any chance of getting zinc inclusion on the paintwork of my T6 covered under warranty. I noticed a handful of little, uniform lumps had appeared on various parts of my Silver T6 about a couple of months ago. I took the van to my nearest VW approved paint and...

Rust blisters and is a ceramic coating worth it?

agreed. It’s zinc inclusions. My last van had them. I took it to see a painter not connected to VW and his advice was to leave it. If you do decide to claim expect a battle. Search the sits for zinc inclusion. There is a lot of info on here. @Tourershine is the expert.
