I hope I have been able to help someone else solve this annoying issue.
As I said on the other thread - to get the H15 bulbs to work, I had to swap the high beam and earth wires on my bulbs and I had to use OBD to change the bulb type to LED.
Post in thread 'T6.1 H15 LED bulbs not working'
T6.1...
ok here is a full scan with the changes made as described above.
I am concerned by the number of errors i seem to be getting. I have also reto fitted parking sensors to the rear which is all working fine with oem parking sensor unit although i can see errors for the parallel parking module...
Thank you for your very quick response.
It is impossible for me to modify the OBD and I will not risk tampering with the connection wires.
So what is the best solution to improve the headlight lighting (high beam)?
The original H15 halogen bulbs are very weak and too yellow! What can you...
Of course you do! I shouldn't have expected anything less from VW!
"Oui, monsieur gendarme, let me change this bulb out for you.... might take a moment though..."
Is it possible and easy to change the standard reversing lights of my T6.1 (tailgate) to a brighter LED bulb? If so, what kind of bulb is it?
I can only find T6 info here so not sure what applies to the T6.1 - apologies if this has been discussed before
Second vote for the Twenty20 582 linked by Dubber above. I’ve had mine in a couple of years now and they have been faultless. I put mine in while swapping to H7 headlights. If I was to change the bulbs in the future I’d just pop one side of the bumper at once rather than remove the whole thing...
Getting to BCM was a job that I wasn't prepared to do on my own but I measured 0.3V at pin 9 which was weird. After disconnecting and reconnecting the battery pin 9 started reading 12V. I didn't think to check if my +ve cable to the tailight had continuity to ground though so did that and found...
Replaced the reverse bulbs with Twenty20 Led's
And, eventually changed the front badge for the gloss black one that has been on a shelf in the garage for 5 months
That doesn’t look like the same bulb that I used. It looks longer because the shiny black bit between the connector and bulb head is much larger. The bulb is also black rather than silver (not that will stop it fitting!).
Maybe they have changed the design? Link to mine below. And pic to show...
You'll need Beta Carista to do the bulbs. The only thing I've personally done is the needle sweep, big MPH was annoying me so put it back as it was.
Oh, and clearing the EML.. many times.
Yeah fully legal. You can get them fitted at certain places. So-low dealers can get the full LEDs but you have to get them fitted with them.
I’ve been told by THQ they aren’t coming out anytime soon. You won’t get much change out of £1k from the full LEDS fitted.
I have the Phillips race...
If anyone with a T6.1 is looking for headlight change then I have these THQ lights with the £67 THQ LED bulbs. Black version.
They have some minor damage to brackets on drivers side only that is easily repaired and were fully functioning and not really moving around at all when they were on...
Changed the dipped beam bulbs for some better ones in my H4s, which should hopefully make them marginally less crap.
On the positive side it took me about 5 minutes, I knew there must be one positive to having small hands.
Hi mate,
I have a T6 that had factory LED lights but swapped to Factory T6.1 rear lights. I have resistors to stop the indicators fast flashing etc..,,
Is there a way to code out the indicator warning? So I can do without resistors? Had a look in 09 central electronics but everything I could...
Yes , certainly no quick fixes to sort the problem out, always seems to be a way around the MOT test, ie changing bulbs out on test day, we shall have to wait and see what the outcome will be, Maybe a curfew, only daylight driving allowed..
Mine does this too. I assumed it was a combination of the many electrical changes/mods I've made, Chinese stereo, and/or the LED interior bulbs I fitted.
