    SportineLine wheels in Copper???

Hi Everyone, My sportline rims are in need of a refurb, white worm in the lacquer and some curb rash. My van is (i think) acapulco blue. Light blue metallic. So thinking if a dark copper power coat for the wheels would work and look ok? Anyone gone down this route? Any pics or photoshop pls...

    SportineLine wheels in Copper???

We know the feeling! Our Sportline wheels got the white worm after 12 months. The dealer actually said "Its because you take it out on the road!". After realising we were dealing with a total muppet I got a brilliant lady called Laura from VW in Sheffield to sort out the problem. The wheels...

Yikes! Thanks for the heads up. I was vaguely aware of having read something about this somewhere on the forum, but this changes everything! Back to the drawing board; the last thing I want to do is fork out up to £1500 to replace a perfectly good (quality) set of OEM wheels with premium tyres...

What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

They look amazing My alloys are similar with the black finish and polished face. I love the look but 2 years in the dreaded white worm is starting. What did you have done to them and how much did it cost.

wheel look awesome but just a word of caution with polished faces and 'wheel worm' they are more susceptible to deterioration. See here: Search results for query: wheel worm

Having fitted Devonport’s and AT tyres, I now have my Sportline wheels for sale. 18” obviously, with 255/45/18 Toyo Proxes Sport and Sport 2 tyres. They have 3.5mm x2 and 5mm x2 of tread left. They are 103 rated, so wheels and tyres are suitable for T32’s like the van they came off. Condition...

    Different spare wheel size.

As Ali states, OK physically on the rear unless its a 4motion. If you have a front puncture you'd have to play musical wheels, unless you were only going a few hundred yards. However, the legality would be questionable at best, so try and avoid running anyone over with it on the van as that...

As a member of the "Over The Hill Gang" I love a bit of bling!:geek: I reckon remove all the swamper stuff and drop the van a bit then get diamond cut wheels as white worm is very much the look this year...:whistle: More shiny!

I finally took the plunge and replaced my corroded & wheel-wormed Cascavals with Oz Rally Raids. I think the new wheels are great. I'm still warming to the new tyre size. Went from Cross-Climates 235/55 to Fallen AT3WA 235/65.

    Warranty Factory Alloys

I had all four Diamond turned wheels replaced under warranty just before van was 3 years old (I had 5yr extended factory warranty). The turned front face was showing signs of worming under the lacquer tyres were original tyres so no damage from fitting tyres, balancing etc. the dealer agreed...

I remember a few years back that a few members on the Golf GTI forum had wheels replaced under warranty due to 'white worm'. Recently similar claims have been rejected.

    Alloy wheel: Paralysis by Analysis!

Welcome. Those tyre and wheel offsets will be fine, unless are you lowered more than 70mm. Polished wheels are more susceptible to white worm. I’d go for the painted finish. Be sure to post up some photos.

    Hello from a new member – Seeking advice on a high-mileage T6!

T6 isn't especially unreliable by modern standards. This one's got 200k under its wheels and we dont really know how it's been treated. T5 may or may not be a safer bet, but they dont drive as nicely and you may be opening up an age related can or worms instead. You cant afford to be too...

    Wheel Suggestions Chestnut Brown T32

I did t read your post in that way at all. I completely understand though, as I was happy with my 18’s until I saw a few vans on 20’s, then agonised over not wanting to be too low but not wanting 20’s without a tighter arch gap, then flitted over to 17’s with chunky tyres as thought that could...

Hi, yes that’s what I was thinking. I think they’re a great looking rim but the dreaded “wheel worm” puts me off getting the polished version. I still haven’t tracked down what make it could be.
