You have two forced regeneration scenarios. One while stationary, second while driving. Stationary regen is normal procedure. You can start it with OBD tool (VCDS, Carista…). I usually move the car a bit further away from the house in case it catches fire 😀. It takes around 30min to complete.

Saw exactly the same a few weeks ago (range 3000 to 650 miles and errors) and mine also reset after a regen then was fine until the warning came back at the weekend. Booked in with VW just in case but also hoping the next regen resets it. My local garage told me they get loads of adblue issues...

Yeah, wet lead acid getting hit by regenerative braking voltage spikes probably isn’t ideal. I probably would put the old AGM in its place unless it’s completely knackered.

Left the car with a VW authorised workshop here in Sweden. They did try a forced regen, but soot levels where to high so new DPF has been ordered. Hopefully that should take care of it!

...is stand alone, no phone or app. Just stays plugged into the OBD port. Can have optional LED on a cable, position where you want. Beeps and LED flash at start of regen a different signal at end of regen. Push button at anytime for how many grams of soot accumulated, indicated by number of beeps.

Well whaddya know. Regen today and warning went off and back to 3500 range. That's the 2nd time in the last 2 months. My theory? The regen heats up the underneath of the van enough to unblock or liquify the adblue in the pipes or nozzles during cold weather. Absolutely no real evidence to back...

Can I ask, is it best practice to let the van tick over & finish its regen when you arrive somewhere (get home in my case) and it’s still going (higher tick over revs & fans going)? Assume so?
