Just a bit of history , taking out 3 way fridge and replacing with small compressor fridge , old setup was 6mm2 cable from starter to 3 way fridge that was controlled with a ignition live cable so only ran fridge when ignition on and a 10mm2 to dc-dc for lithium battery.
Now I am on a compressor...
Has been a great fridge for us but now have fixed fridge in van. Includes hold down kit, 12V and 240V leads. Works well and very good cosmetically. Note 12V lead has repaired insulation in small area (see picture). Also, this fridge is slightly too wide to be used between single front seats...
I am looking for a small dual zone fridge that I can use to supplement our top loader for long journeys. The smaller the better as between the 2 we would have plenty. It can be 12V or 240 as we have a Clayton and mains or 12V supply at the back. Any recommendations?
Thanks
I wouldn't pull more that 50A over a 16mm2 cable.
So maybe drop your 100A fuse down to 50A from the Roamer.
3mm2 cable for the 12v socket is a bit small if you plan on pulling the 100w+ 15A that some devices will draw, IE tyre pump or laptop charger.
Same with the fridge..... I'd beef up the...
Webasto Isotherm BL41 12v Topload Fridge.
Full working order, a small hairline crack internally that has been fixed (doesn’t not impact use/ efficiency - difficult to show on pictures) priced accordingly.
Selling as we’re going for a different layout in the van.
Collection only from Derby...
Running on 240 in Spain, dont know if full reset, the small section of fridge failed on freezer setting completely iced up then shut down showing - - - and wouldnt register that side on the phone app.
Hi All,
Selling my new Alpicool TAW35 Fridge. £160 ono
I've only used this once and whilst it performed absolutely fine, since then I ended up going much lighter and either user a small cooler bag or just eating out instead. Hence I'm selling.
I bought this to use with a Ovano XL drawer and...
Thanks for all the input. I'm pretty much decided to get a top loading fridge, the main downside for me then would be the lack of a freezer compartment.
Then sell my ARB fridge (as it wont fit under the bed board and then get a small top loading portable fridge (that fits under the bead board)...
I have just picked up the proper fridge for my camper so my cool box fridge / freezer is surplus to requirements. it’s about 6 months old and was used for a couple of trips away in the summer before i had my kitchen fitted.
performance wise it’s been great used as both a fridge and a freezer...
Silver disc lock (small) used every time… stored just behind drivers seat by the fridge pod… perfect fit on OEM T6 steering wheel.
(Ghost 2 immobiliser to be extra sure)
...the new one to the pipework, purge the system, vac it out and then regas. So not a simple job especially in the confined space of a smallfridge so unless you’re a fridge engineer with a bit of time and patience you are probably best to just replace it. Are you sure it’s the compressor?? What...
Battery sounds like it’s on the way out
However most fridges are installed with to small of gauge cable, they get very hot this time of year, no ventilation, so they are working harder
A lot of hook ups use to small of chargers, so barely replacing what you are using
We leave all the cupboards/fridge/drawers open. Leave the internal thermal blinds in, and have a small oil filled radiator set on frost protection plugged in. We leave the van on EHU when not in use. this keeps everything topped up & dry.
That's what I've used in mine. Hard wearing and easy to replace.
I had a small issue with my fridge which meant a small leak. Super easy to pull up and replace a couple of tiles.
I still had to cut a bit out of the left hand side to clear the heater outlet pipe , but that is covered by a small box I made.
The next problem I had was that the fridge I bought wouldn't fit the units, due to them being a cm or 2 shorter than normal due to the floor. Lesson learned -...
