I've used ours on gravel for the past 12 years without any problems. Our motorhome ramps on the other hand have split and become deformed from using them on gravel . So i suppose its down to which ones you buy .

It's just a hard plastic tube, I just taped mine up with self amalgamating tape which sorted it. On my last T5 it was badly split so I cut the tube in half then used a joining piece I bought from eBay
