I am sure when I first got van I could only remove key if inPark, now seems I can remove in any position.
Read couple other threads but none seem to suggest why and what is the fix.
Assume it is a repair covered by all in warranty and van needs to go in next month for full service plus...
Can't take key out unless it is inPark
The error message is - "Only leave vehicle in Position P. Please visit workshop"
I don't think it's sensing a door open, not showing as such.
Can you take the key out when not inPark?
I had this issue and the original suspicion was the Micro switch that engages when inpark allowing for key to be removed safely. new switch didnt solve problem. Eventually diaagnosed as play in the selector which was replaced under the all-in-...
Bit of a blog from today's events and my experience might be of some assistance to someone who is frantically searching the forum one day after their van refuses to start 1.5 hours away from home...
So I hopped in the van and went to start it as normal. The engine turned over once then I got...
Recently I have noticed I can remove the keyin my T6 when it is not inPARK.
It definatley hasn't always done this.
Has anyone fixed this themselves? Or know where to look for the potential fault?
I still have to press the brake to get out of PARK when the van is running.
Thanks
I have recently had dsg selector replaced under warranty, 2019 t6 70k. slightly different issue in that it wasn't registering P and would allow key to be removed when not inpark. diagnoses was play in the selector not engaging the micro switch. If you have any sloppy play that could be an issue...
I am sure my van would not let me remove the key unless it was inPark
Now, it seems I can remove the key whilst in drive or neutral and then it will roll away.
Has something broken, or have I got a bad memory?
from research on this site I suspected gear selecter/micro switch issue
Van in for service and EML issue (will update that one on a separate thread, needless to say yet again they can't find fault so no fix)
so the conversation goes:
ME- can you look at the gear selecter keyremoval issue...
Hi all I have a 2017 T6 which has developed an intermittent short causing the main fuse link 40A to ignition to blow
History
I've had a previous intermittent fault for around 4 weeks causing 10A SC30 to blow
This powers the mirrors, Oil sender & Rear park assist, fuse will blow replace it...
It does interfere with parking sensors, but not the camera other than looking through what's being carried. I just turn the sensors off and it would depend where your camera is. Mine is fairly central near the number plate.
As for it being stolen, it is locked in place using a key, as are...
I've recently been getting the same warning intermittently. Is there a way to switch off this pointless 'warning' without going through a garage? It doesn't affect the choice of gears or the fact that the van is in P every time I leave it. As far as I can see it's only linked to being able to...
Hi All, well after lots of research and help on here i invested in a VNCI tool and have been using VCTool to make some changes to my MY19 Caravelle. I went for VCTool primarily because its a cost effective solution that allows a month by month which is hopefully all i will need for now and...
Yeah you would think it would be fairly safe parked up in broad day light in whilst you have dinner apparently not!
Would advise getting immobiliser and tracker really wish I’d got round to that!!
OK everyone...so the garage (Hoyles in Denholme) we took it back to have said they can't identify the issue and I need to take it to a 'specialist'. I sent them the below and they say they checked everything "they can" - it's been with them since Monday.
What would you guys do next?!
Issue...
on the ex-AA T4 I had you pressed a button on the dash, removed the keys and left it as you desired. when you pressed the clutch the engine cut out to stop it being stolen. I believe it is an offence to leave it unattended as you see the police sometimes cracking down in winter etc etc
I...
