...acting against the turbocharger oil feed. In addition the pressure will act in the opposite direction on the turbocharger compressor oilseal blowing oil into the induction system which in turn is partially combusted with the resulting soot further clogging the DPF.
If you know that the DPF...
It’s definitely dsg oil. Just been reading about the issues people have had with leaking from a bolt on the dsg. Am wondering if it could be that? It’s not from the filter housing. Took that off earlier and the seal looked fine. So likely it’s from the cooler unless it’s the bolt issue.
Yes sorry, personally I would replace the pump. I have not watched the full video but I think they can be rebuilt but the issue is trying to find a good rebuild kit.
...is doing his thing.
And……there’s oily dampness around the drive shaft on the nearside-any guesses?
And…….much worse is the amount of oil around the off side which looks like it could be my turn to have the main oilseal done.
I’ll get it booked in at the garage as it’s nearly due a service...
Hiya.
I tried pulling the pipe off again yesterday and I cannot seem to get it off. It starts to seep oil from that crack in the end of the tube. I'm looking into this as it does have hot starting issues which are intermittent and also oil looks like it's coming from below the pump and running...
Did you establish why the turbocharger failed?
Were the oil feeds a drains proven clear and flushed?
Was the charge air cooler replaced / back flushed?
very possible that,
a small puff of blue smoke after sitting at the lights for a short while - was a sure sign/inication.
lost count of how many i done on old for ecotec engines . . . along with the hydraulic tappets.
++++
and the Valve Stem Seals wouldn't show up on a compression test,
but...
Online car parts, Autodoc, euro car parts, spare parts (European parts selling sites) and also ppl on European transporter groups recommended different type depending on country in the UK mostly 75w80 is recommended but there's also ppl who used 75w90 and are fine. Both 75w80 and 75w90 can be...
I think the burning oil due to leaky seals is causing the smoke. Everything else like the EGR and DPF are not the issue but are affected because of the smokey issue.
the engine definitely has a prominent vibration to it especially cold start. No fault codes, oil loss, no smoke from exhaust. There’s blow by and a diesel smell from oil filler. Regens every 130 miles no matter what with a mixture of long and short journeys. Had a relative compression done and...
...so didn’t break the bank.
Sorted out my handbrake which wasn’t working too well and some good news on the (I thought) leaking main pulley oilseal.
Oilseal is fine, there’s a trace of oil from above the cover and no trace of an ongoing leak. He’s pretty sure it’s been caused when someone...
