    Service Plan or go independent?

...oil change/service/MOT so have to add that on. But for my 2 yr old van the quote was approx £580 to fix pretty much anything (including DPF/oil seals and other stuff not included with VW all in). 6.1/highline/t30/150 value given = 35k Add in service + AA breakdown cover = say £500ish So not...

MFD suggests oil service just 6 months (10k miles) since last one?

Mines done about 1,000 miles since it was serviced in April and I got the oil service due warning today. Assume the dealer forgot to reset it, but I’ll get an oil/filter changed in Sept/Oct as usual and ignore the warning. Pisses me off a bit that the independents are nearly as dear as a main...

    How good are the Caristas?

The only way to tell is to thoroughly clean the engine and gearbox from the top down. If the oil is black it’s most likely the drive end crankshaft seal, is the engine oil level dropping? If it’s relatively clear oil it’s brake fluid (hydraulic fluid) from the clutch slave cylinder. Either way...

    Crank shaft outer seal replacement

There’s another thread about the front crank oil seal leaking - Front crank shaft seal leaking I’ve just had mine done for the 2nd time, my belt was replaced 18 months ago, but I paid for a new cambelt kit and water pump as re-using a belt just isn’t worth it imo.

    I think I've messed up!

Yes, hopefully the debris is from issues that were dealt with.

    I think I've messed up!

Yea it ran fine, just a heavy oil leak from somewhere that was hard to diagnose. That's why I replaced boost hose seals/ clips, rocker cover gasket, oil pressure/ cooler and resealed the sump. It did have a compression issue last year and that resulted in a new head gasket being fitted, as well...

DPF Regen every 50Km. Excessive Oil consumption CXEB 150kw

@Derek99B that doesn't look good! It might be worth getting a compression check carried out to see if the rings/bores are sealing properly. I had a 2006 Passat 2.0 Tdi that went through similar amounts of oil. Notably, it was worse on long motorway journey where I could often see 2-300 miles...

Crank seal leak - urgent repair?

Hi I picked up a VW T6 with 45K mileage. It had dual mass flywheel and clutch and cambelt done back in October '21 and it's done less than 5k since then. Thought I'd see about a VW all-in-one package but when they checked the car they said the oil level was way too high, and there was an leak...

    - 204ps Bi-Turbo CXEB T6 Engine & Turbo problems -

awesome. . . . The Link is to a Facebook page. so ill show below: ++++++++++ Oil consumption VW T6 CXEB. (A lot to read, but it's voluntary) Unfortunately, it is so that the 204PS T6 is now also inclined to burn oil in increased quantities. There is much speculation about the cause. We have...

    Steering rack failure

Sounds scarily similar to my issue (just joined the forum and put up an new thread before reading this one) Have managed to get back to the uk without a massive wait on European breakdown cover and now awaiting AA relay home. Sadly I’m out of warranty - 2019 van. It does seem a bit too...

P00AF - 'stuck' with new turbo

What a rollercoaster of emotions... The green specs on the valve stems are in fact just weird artifacts/light reflecting on what i assume to be oil, from the camera light. The green specs in the coolant are definitely a thing though and still of unknown origin. I've decided to pull the head back...
