    (Another) Oil Leak

They’ve had the cover off to do the crank pulley oil seal today and reckon it’s coming from above and behind, hence not doing that job until there is certainty. In their words ‘it’s as if someone has spilled oil when topping up’. That’s the area that it has come down from. However, I did the...

CFCA EGR COOLANT HOSE BYPASS AND OIL PRESSURE SENSOR ADD

Thanks for the reply, sorry I didn't get back to you, I can't recall the part number but I bought the plastic version of the oil filter housing you have to remove the egr completely but since I posted this I haven't had a chance to get stuck in and pull the front off to do it. I have the egr...

Why do main dealers change the sump plug every oil change? Or do they?

Hi guys I’m new to the forum. I recently carried out my first oil and filter change since buying my T6. I noticed on all the previous main dealers oil services that they charged for a new sump plug. So naturally assuming it had a crush washer I purchased one with the oil filter. However on...

    Factory max speed limiter?

🫡 - the Kombi it seems isn’t limited to the daft 116mph (which is 107) tho. Revo seemingly haven’t come across it* suggesting the limit was set by ‘an owner’. This is a hard / behind a firewall limiter 😕. *according to local agent. A LOT of ‘us’ that are playing with the transporter...

    Power steering pipe bracket

...under and fix it (thanks to you!) Now just have to deal with what looks like excessive oil from the filter housing and nearside driveshaft oil seal. Luckily the boot that perished on the offside shaft is still under warranty and they have agreed to send me a whole new driveshaft. I can't...

Liquid gasket position between cylinder head and camshaft housing

...jointing residue on the contact area it will be filling the rough machined finish. Obviously anything internal or external isn’t serving any oil sealing purpose. I would advise to thoroughly degrease and apply to the sealing face as the garage mech’ stated, be sure to torque down correctly...

    Oil filter housing

As I understand it (not this type of filter on my van) When you unscrew the filter cap, any oil in the filter drains into the sump, so it should be OK to remove and check for any faults on the O ring or debris causing the seal not to seal.

    What Have You Bought Today?

Adding to the long list of bills - new set of glow plugs (once they could get them out) and pressure sensor, new rocker cover gasket, new injector seals and an engine clean to get rid of the oil that had leaked from the rocker cover. The adventures of the bright orange money pit continue - I am...

    Factory max speed limiter?

Talk to transporter HQ about the revo, they helped develop it and will know it more than other dealers perhaps? Yes I've looked at the charge cooler also, it probably needs that and an oil cooler to be honest. They run a fair amount of boost! Never thought about the breather but that's a good...

T6 180 using oil and compression down on 1 cylinder :-(

...of time, after a short drive it would have excessive burnt oil smoke from the exhaust. Subsequently, the garage decided it would be bore/piston rings or valve stem oil seals. they compression checked it dry, and then put some oil in the bore, thus confirming it was bore and not valve stem...

    MOT history

...to change them. Coilsprings snap surprisingly often now days. Nothing too concerning there. Oil leak, most likely crank oil seal. Lot's of info on here. Mine weeps a bit. If not excessive not something that would concern me. Again easy to visually check if excessive and needs rectification...

    MOT history

Broken springs = common and been rectified (would probably check both had been replaced!) Front Oil Leak = probably crank case oil seal, known issue, mine was the same. Now MOT item and unlikely to be excessive. expensive repair though Rear brake wearing thin .... just a warning to monitor. mine...

    Front crank shaft seal leaking

This is very interesting, as the first time it leaked the oil mark was directly below the crank shaft pulley and I’ve been checking there pretty regularly. This time it’s more on the front corner of the sump (down and right of the pulley as you look at it. I’ve also read somewhere that the...

What's the service interval for the vw wet belt oil pump?

All of the Volkswagen T6 diesel engines. (And previous engines I'd imagine but I'd have to check) But before you get excited no it's not the timing belt ie the Ford wet belt issues. This is the oil pump drive belt that's fed from the sump. You can see it in the video clips above it's behind...

    5 speed Gearbox oil change

I’m planning to change the gearbox oil on my 2017 5 speed T6. I spoke to TPS and they couldn’t confirm the quantity of oil required as “it’s sealed for life sir”. I believe it’s 2L for the 5 speed. Can anyone confirm? Also TPS want circa £40 a litre for said oil. Does anyone know the exact...

Expensive week. Then mechanic noticed splits on the inner side of one of the front tyres (see photos), so got...
