Bala SOS

I need to move my aerial from the front of the van to the rear. I've found a 3m fakra extension, but what is it for? If it's for SOS I won't bother relocate as it's disabled and just seal the hole. But if it's for something else I'll move it. Thanks in advance.

The SOS module hardware itself really isn’t causing many of these faults by all accts. It’s a SW/FW issue that this 5F update addresses. There are a few independents with ODIS who can do the update (@Dav-Tec) but he’s in Bolsover so a good way from you I think.

Was the digital dash installed from factory, or aftermarket?

Hi RT, On full privacy setting the only thing that isn't blocked is the SOS system (according to all the little check boxes). If any other setting is used it goes to the screen posted by Pete above. If I switch on/off radio the screen goes away but mine doesn't seem to disappear unless...

Oh right. That's a bugger. Cheers for the heads up. Perhaps I'll leave it then. I do still get the sos error now and then even though the module was replaced. Everything else seems fine but warranty runs out end of February :oops:

Alpine gives the best integration, uses the Oe mic, we can retain the sos, vehicle settings on the touch screen, and both usb sockets the Kenwood moves the vehicle settings away from the touch screen on to the steering wheel and is graphically poor, No news on any new products , as if it will...

...options, the Alpine halo 11 looks really smart but also have looked into the Kenwood DMX9720XD from transporter HQ which seems to retain usb's, SOS button etc... (understand DIGI dash probably not worth it with these) Does anyone have any history with either of these or some other options...

Hi , just had a sensor replaced under warranty to do with the sos button and on way home 5 miles the fan had come on ? Hope this is normal and a coincidence? Only had it a month and never heard fan before .

Will this also work with the digital dash, air con, ADAS system etc? Any view if it'll end my discover media woes of taking up to 30mins to boot? I've simply had enough of VW hence throwing money at possible solutions?

Hi, I've just picked up my 70 reg 6.1 on Saturday, 1 mile from home and the SOS activated with a yellow triangle on dash ⚠️ . I can see this has been an issue for 3 years+ I would like some advice-ammunition before ringing VW on Monday.. Thanks

It’s a T6.1, assuming the SOS rather than alarm as unlocking didn’t turn off the hazards, had to use the button. I’ll monitor and drop off at VW if it does it again, still under warranty thanks

...I lost knocked mine off I cut this wire so I could remove the hanging wing mirror to not damage the paint work. That module for me caused an SOS error and when i replaced it the error went away. I didn’t cut the one for the dab so not sure if if that also causes the same error. But you’ll...
