Pretty much what I have now, saw smoke..now stop/start inactive and cam position sensor implausible…Still drives, but trying to find a decent garage that isn’t busy is a nightmare
Hi guys just replaced my maf sensor as I had a fault and believed it caused some adblue issues adblue counter reset on a run but after stopping and restarting I got the no stopstart and a maf sensor reading too low code I deleted all codes and drove 10 miles nothing has returned just wondering...
Post a few pics of the front AMD side of the van...
The grill, repeater indicators and side mirrors will tell you what the van model is.
And no stopstart is also a clue.
Ok, anyone got any idea what's going on with this?
Symptoms are:
- Heater buttons work, but the functions cut in and out after a few seconds. Very odd.
- Radio reversing camera has stopped working since this started happening.
- Also the radio (rcd360) doesn't turn on/off with ignition like it...
Have had a search but couldn't find the answer to my problem.
I have just had 2 single colour LED strip COB lights fitted. I noticed last night that when I start up the Eberspacher heater the lights flicker for a few minutes whilst the heater is starting up. Then after a few minutes as the...
You got access to vcds to log some data?
@mmi has done extensive work with vcds data logging for crank no starts.
Ie, start the logger running to catch the no start. Then stop and post the results.
Have you tried charging the battery up? If you are making frequent small trips you could be slowly draining it over time and with no long trips never topping it back off.
Check your terminals are on tight and securely.
How old is the battery ?
Does your van have Start/Stop?
What battery is it?
As @oldiebut goodie said it sounds like the thin green and yellow linbus communication cable has rotted out inside the corrugated pvc tube that covers a section of the harness where it goes along the underside of the front bumper on its way to the alternator.
The local main dealer here found it...
Does the van struggle to start at times and has the stop/startstopped working as these point to the starter battery being forked and as has been said already low power can set off unrelated "passive sporadic" faults definitely don't automatically entertain bent conrods or similar dead engine...

I done the same as Green Giant. The Autoterm heater detects low voltage and will stop the heater from starting to preserve your battery. Have a look at a Topdon JS3000 jump pack. Reasonably priced but very good.
StartStop and AC interact in a subtly more complex way than, say, the fan speed.
On mine the StartStop and Climate Control will activate with the AC on but it's clearly kicking the engine back on when it knows there is a demand on the compressor.
Amazing never spotted the difference in IP ratings, spent couple days comparing the two. Will buy the IP65 version as seems more compact and around same price
Just ordered AMT12-2 will see how it works on standard settings with fogstar and startstop battery.
Thanks
I can not claim to be an expert by any stretch of my imagination but does sound that you have a fault. I would suggest having it investigated for fault codes. Never know, it might be a simple fix but on he other hand it may be something else and i would have thought it better to know and then...
