Towing a caravan and carrying bikes.

If it's a big van (mines 1900KGs) and you load up a lot in the T6 then I'd go for 150 rather than 102. Like many I take way more stuff than is needed camping. I have DSG and drive it manually when towing as it's rare for me to get into 6th let alone 7th gear. At 56mph it's usually happier in...

    OZ Rally Raid 17’s

It’s 102 remapped to 150 Hardly noticed any difference at all changing from the 18’s to the Swampers. Speedo is a bit out. Reads about 3mph lower at sat nav speed of 70 mph

    110PS LWB T30 for a Camper ok?

My 102 struggles on longer or steeper hills when loaded but not so much as I consider remapping it. Rest of the time it’s fine, despite still carrying some camping kit. We’ve had five people, all their gear for two weeks, the dog and her food/toys/bedding and two mountain bikes and all the...

Towing a caravan and carrying bikes.

Have a Search with ‘map 102’. There are people who will do it but there are known limits with a 5 speed manual gearbox and turbocharger.

    Review: DAV-TEC

This is good to know, my 2019 High line is great other than the fact that there is very little response when you put your foot down at 60mph and upwards. I though I could live with it but I’m finding it more and more frustrating. I’ve been holding off having a remap mostly due too the weak 5...

Do you plan on keeping your van?

Bertie as we call him a 2016 102 remapped has 26k miles. I hardly use him but when I do we all enjoy him. Would I sell him. Too right for the right price. The Mrs will kill me. The kids will ensure I am dead. But for just a little while and I mean a little I would have some cash in my pocket...

    Scotland - Remap

I had my 2019 Highline 102 remapped at TH Performance in Havant who are a Pendle Agent. All kept within reasonable tolerances, for the above mentioned reasons. Now at 155.5bhp (the .5 counts ) and 313Nm Torque. With the delivery of that torque at the correct intervals. Not massive...

    Remap on a 140PS manual

Are we talking euro 5 102? If so The 102 is the 140 but de-tuned and with a 5 speed box. The maps for this take into account the gearbox and run less torque. There are two map settings at 140 or 180 ps. And yes very much worth it. Will transform the engine. If it’s the euro 6 it can’t be mapped.

    Remapping

Hi, looking at getting my T6 102 remapped. There are 2 company's in Inverness that do it Revo and Eco Power Tuning. Revo wont do the 102 as they have had turbos failing. Do VW use different turbos for their other engines. Thanks

Which engine output to go for?

I agree the 102 bhp t6 surprised me and a remap is ample in my opinion and I'm use to driving 300 to 400 plus

    Best 150bhp remap recommendations?

Check out @Dav-Tec and worth a chat. About an hour from you. Some good recommendations here - personally had a 102 remapped by Chris and very happy.

    MPG after 102 Remap

I had my 102 remapped up to 175 a few years ago. Like @Snoopy65 I have all the torque I ever need and the MPG is as good, if not better, than it was.

Remap appears to have no effect

I had a 102 van remapped by Pendle and I noticed a big difference. Something doesn’t seem right.

    Remap on a 140PS manual

Yes it is the euro 5 102 manual. All stock in the engine department although I had cruise control fitted. Not sure the van is on the latest VW flash as it has generally been serviced at independent garages for the last three years. Would flashing it to latest software (as I understand it this is...

    110 5 speed vs 150 6 speed

My old T5 was a 102 ps and 5 speed. Had it for 13 years. I originally remapped it to 140 and it drove fine. Sat on the motorway at 80mm fine. I once drove from Rochester in Kent to Holland then Belgium and got home and still had a weeks fuel left in it as it was so good on fuel. The engine...

Am I paying too much? 2017 highline 31k miles

Pretty sure the T32 needs a different MOT. (Class 7) No difference in cost but only certain MOT stations are approved for this type of MOT. I have a T28 and 102 BHP, it's easily fast enough and personally I wouldn't bother with a remap. If you need the extra carrying capacity then it is very...

Remap appears to have no effect

Going from 102 to 170hp should surely make it more responsive, if you can't feel the difference you should ask why. Who did the remap? Lots of threads on here about potential problems caused by remapping the 102, some reputable companies understand the problems and remap accordingly. Oh and...

Which engine output to go for?

You need to decide on your budget. Mines a 204 with Pendle remap - does bring a smile and enjoyable to drive. I’ve had 102‘s and 150’s before and remapped them all. They’re not race cars but more power makes things ‘easier’. As for fuel consumption, I don’t know.
