It's been back in today for the fitter to look at it and they don't really know what the issue is. They think the SOS is interfering with DAB reception and / or possible some interference from the loom adapter. They're going to speak to the loom manufacturer and Alpine and get back to me...

Everybody here has got past the loading profile page. I've tried hard reset, sos button, type c keyboard and mouse, repeatedly reconnecting to Bluetooth and phone cable but nothing.... It's now 5 weeks and it's never got past the loading profile. Zero radio, zero anything.

Yes exactly this. Make sure green light is on the SOS panel above head first which will confirm there is a connection from the unit itself. That was my original issue that was identified with this post.

There's also more chance of electrical gremlins down the line with the 6.1 that will end up costing: Infotainment units / Sos control units failing. Personally, the 6 is better build quality.. the 6.1 just inherits the 6's issues with more thrown in.
