    Mobiframe Composite Flooring System

hey, did you install the mobiframe over this insulation? not sure that would be a pass for the adhesion for crash safety.

I hope someone can clarify something about the insulation on the floor. I have been reading and following a lot "The Van Conversion Bible" (Low and Comley) so far. They suggest to insulate the floor and I see many people online following the same method of building a frame with thin battens and...

There won't have been any insulation off the production line, only vinyl butyl (the big silver rectangle) sound deadening to stop panel boom . (Two very different things). Don't bother removing it, and to be honest, you'll not get much extra sound deadening benefits from adding 100% coverage on...

What level of insulation / sound deadening does a T6 factory Kombi have?

Hey... I was just wondering if a T6 Factory Kombi would have any additional insulation or sound deadening beyond the carpeted panels in the back? Mine is a Highline spec. I did the whole Silent Coat / silver bubble wrap / sheep's wool thing in my T5 and wondering what will need doing in my T6...

    Panel Interior

Thanks, TeeJay. I will look to install additional insulation in the lower as you mention, but I've read it's preferred to replace the big panel with individual ply sections although I'm not 100% sure on the benefits of that, over carpeting the 1 large panel I already have and popping that back up.

    Mobiframe Composite Flooring System

If you notice in the installation video, they DO actually install the flooring WITH the floor insulation actually fitted. This seems to contradict the narrative but makes sense to me, I wouldn't like to have to try to peel the silver-backed insulation back off again!

    Mobiframe Composite Flooring System

...floor, but it will require some effort. Only the contact surface between the composite floor and the vehicle floor is glued. Therefore, it would be necessary to remove the insulation from the grooves/ridges on the floor of your VW (Mobiframe's floor needs to be glued to the metal directly).

You’ll be fine. Wood’s a good insulator anyway, once you've got your floor down. As aforementioned, the sliding frame from Fabworx needs to bolt directly to the bare floor, then you build up on top of that. I’ve got 9mm ply round the edges, 5mm ply over the frame and 12mm laminate over that...

    Windscreen Cover - recommendations

Sorry to hijack a thread, but saves opening a new one. We've been using a Stitches&Steel cover for a few years, works great, keeps the light out and packs away small. Only issue it isn't insulated. I've looked at the insulated ones and they don't seem like they will pack down small enough. As...

    Panel van to campervan insurance

...you to do this? I’ve figured I will need to get ‘camper to conversion’ insurance? Or can I just go with normal van insurance? Within the first year I’m planning on only adding electrics (leasiure battery), windows, insulation/panelling and a rock and roll bed (seats). Thank you for any advice.

    Roof insulation

I’ve just used dodomat 12mm thermo liner on my roof panels. Is it recommended to also add some further insulation on top or does that suffice?
