Solar starter battery maintainer install - thoughts?

The AMT ks more fit and forget, so long as your leisure battery is also recieving charge from solar/EHU For me I like the challenge of making it work and also, for now, I'm keeping the van pretty much stock and I had almost all the bits to hand. With where I park tailgate on to the garage it's...

What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

I really like this. Much preferred set up compared to drilling into the van body.

    Tailgate Stand-Off Latch

Yes, mine works well. Do you have a power-opening/power closing tailgate, then? I don’t, so my answer may be useless to you

    Flexi solar panel replacement

If anyone has the misfortune to have a failed solar panel and need to remove it from the roof .. I used a multi tool with a fine tooth blade which very quickly cut the sikaflex between the panel and the roof with no damage to the roof , as on my install I bonded the panel on the side edges and...

What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Partially disassembled it... Oh and while I was there, started on the job of routing wiring through the roof for extra lights, leisure battery monitor, and solar cables. 6mm solar cables routed through the tailgate wiring boot, once I could find the hole into the main headlining area...

    What is my campervan worth?

Hi everyone, Unfortunately the time has come to sell our much loved camper which was converted by myself in 2021 - a growing family is forcing the sale. I'm not in a major rush just yet and I was wondering whether it would be worth waiting until after the winter when the market is more buoyant...

    Temporary solar advice

Do you have barn doors or a tailgate? If barn doors, you can use the tailgate mount holes to get panel cables into the van. MPPT Vs PWM is definitely worth it, they're about 30% more efficient. https://www.12voltplanet.co.uk/news/pwm-vs-mppt-solar-controllers.html A 100w panel, in bright sun...

Roof wrap for solar panel- whole roof or panel coverage?

On barn door versions, there are grommets covering the tailgate fixing points.

What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

@Richard85 I tried those self adhesive cable tie pads on the painted body under my vans tail lights to secure some water tank vent tubes. Even with a thorough cleaning they don’t stay stuck for long. You may have to find a different way to secure the conduit.

    Pop-top gel coat maintenance

I think getting it wrapped is the long term solution. Some day I’ll need to replace the solar panel and so probably do it then I guess. I’m hoping that not going to be for a few years yet

    LowLife Stealth pop top

Here are some images of our Stealth B2 down and up, and general shot of the van with it down. It's most noticeable at the back, so I've ordered a Sportline style spoiler for the tailgate, which will finish off the lines at the rear much better, and make it even more less obvious. There's a solar...

    Rubber gaskets above barn doors?

T6.1, do not want to drill any holes in the roof. I see a few rubber gaskets along the rain gutter above the barn doors (where a tailgate would hinge I guess). These look ideal for cable routing from inside to the roof racks above for lighting, solar panel etc.. Is that what these gaskets are...

    Pop-top gel coat maintenance

Tempted to get the roof painted or wrapped silver to match the van? I've cut mine back and polished again with carnauba wax but realistically at some point the gel coat will go threadbare and chopped mat strands will start to show. Our camper is chestnut brown but I did respray the tailgate...

    Which narrow solar panel?

The panel is waterproof. I sealed the front edge to avoid it lifting, and the back edge is open. For barn doors, you can go in through the blank for the tailgate hinge. My cable run is at this link, and there are lots of other options on this thread...
