After taking my T6 for its first drive in the dark I can see why everyone moans about the standard H4’s and will definitely be upgrading them the THQ H7’s during the winter.
I've also got a set of fog lights and fitting kit for my sportsline front bumper.
I’m thinking of fitting an additional...
Is it the lens that is damaged, or are the lamps within it also damaged?
If you upload a photo of the headlamp, I'll tell you whether it looks repairable; I bought two LED headlamps with smashed lenses and replaced them both using the (generic) lens from H4 headlamps (which you'll pick up off...
I‘m running Travelinlite DRL LEDs - no bulb warning on dash
Fitted the Osram sidelights and H4LEDs and I got a bulb warning this morning - so it looks like I’ll have to hook up VCDS and code it out.
Actually very pleased with the bright crisp white lighting I now have from the outside
I’m having a clear out and have a pair of perfectly working, good condition H4 headlight units. These were removed from my van last September time and have been packaged and boxed since. The dipped/main headlight bulbs are Philips Racing Vision and the DRL’S are Philips LED. Collection only from...
That's the beauty of these vans imo, you do it your way and enjoy what you like. Personally I think the H4 dipped beams are appalling, particularly on the pitch black country roads around me. The last few cars I've had and my Cali had factory LEDs and while I don't expect that level of...
Sorry to open an old post, but have just changed the drl in my t6 2018 from h4 (will change back for mot) to led.
Hated the orange look and replaced with twenty20 382 led bulbs.
All good.
However, thought I could do the same for the reversing light (torch more like) as can't see anything with...
Today was the DRL.
I managed to find a brand new OEM RHS H7 from Deutschparts, with some damage but functional. A bargain, and only a tiny chip off the extreme corner is visible once fitted.
I wouldn't have a hope in hell of soldering the new DRL holder on to my older H7, so this was my only...
Did a bit more reading about the THQ lights (on this forum) and there seem there have been a fair few sets for sale 'lightly used' and a number of people who aren't that pleased with them. I will focus my efforts on picking up a set of the twin H7 units instead, I think.
I don't really want to...
So. better wording:
Anyone want a single (or both) H4 headlight unit for free (as long as you haven’t heard of the H7 units or don’t want to pay out for OEM LED or THQ))?
Can you confirm headlamps type(H4, H7, LED)?
The wiring described above is incorrect.
Assuming halogen headlamps your RED wire should be connected to PIN 4 and BLUE wire to PIN 10.
BLACK one is correct -> PIN 5.
Additionally you might need to check your BCM coding, see below...
Amazing response (and those above) thank you.
Where do you reckon best place to source h7 units?
Are there any pitfalls I need to be wary of in securing ‘correct’ units?
Many thanks all
And would be happy to pay £150 to ‘not crash’ :) is there a ‘shop’ on this forum? Someone mentions prior...
HI, I'm trying to find out what's the best ledh4 headlight bulbs to fit to the original headlamps for better visibility at night, has anyone tried any with much success?
thanks
...on such a regular basis but as a camper driver doing probably 6,000 miles a year and much of that in daylight, fitting admittedly expensive H4led lamps gives a shitload of light to drive by compared to the poor old halogen H4 lamps and hasn't resulted in three failed main stealer MOTs thus...

Sadly for sale to fund house move, owned for around 5 years, I viewed loads over 6 months before finding this one.
I’ve probably...
In defence of my position I've posted a video of the results of swapping out the standard H4 lamps and putting in some moderately expensive but more efficient 4000k led lamps.
If I wanted more light when it was actually possible to drive on main beam it would be easy enough to add some form of...
