+1 for standard Devonport with 235/65/17 falken wildpeak. No spacers standard suspension

Check both the 225 and 235 are load rated for vans. That might be the bigger difference. I have 235/45/18 and the speedo now reads close to GPS speed. Probably 235/65/17 will be thereabouts too.

Did you end up finding a solution for this mate? I'm in the same predicament, van had claytons 205 65 16 then changed to oz rally raids 235 65 17. My initial thought was to get a davenport or vw steel 215 60 17 as a spare or change to tyre on it so the diameter is similar.

235/65/17 usually corrects the factory speedo over read for vans that came with 17" wheels from the factory. Standard 16's are smaller (the tyre OD...) and the speedo is calibrated differently. 235/65/17 will, I believe, under read on a 16'" van.

Managed to get a full size spare in, got a 17" VW steel wheel and fitted the same tyre. It's a very tight fit but deflated it goes in.

235/65/17 is a popular size, especially with AT tyres. It will be slightly larger in diameter than your 235/55/18, by nearly 22mm in total, giving you slightly more ground clearance while also reducing the arch gap. Have a look on "willtheyfit.com" to compare sizes, if you haven't done so...

235/65/17 is meant make the Speedo read same as GPS speed. Unless original spec and/or coding was for 16s

That seems very high for that kind and size of Tyre.
