You mention that your rear tyre was 2 psi below. I presume then that this was determined when you visited the local garage? The reason for my asking is that I don't see any values for the pressures on my infotainment although I have ensured that the pressures are where they should be and have...
Welcome to the forum. The search function and a cup of tea will be your best friend here.
There's 30 pages of 20 inch tyre info in the thread below, much of it from respected and trusted trade members.
I don't run 20s myself but for all seasons a lot of people favour Michelin Cross Climate...
Yeah I think those pressures are way too high! Look at more like 40psi...?
Don't have much time now as just heading out the door! Do a wee search on pressures on the forum...
Also as well as tyres/pressures, what are your shocks/springs?
Thanks Ginkster. Yep - pressures been fine and correct. Standard van no adjustments apart from a slightly wider tyre than stock (235 v 215). Local driving on an and b roads and then 2 trips to the alps. The other thing that is worrying me slightly is we live on bridle track and am worrying the...
I read on a recent post on a FB page way to set pressures is as follow:
- set pressure in region you think is ok (say 45psi)
- drive an hour
- check pressures warm
- if pressure has only increased 4psi you set correctly
- if gone up more than 4psi you set too low, let tyres cool and increase...
It's unlikely to be noticeable. In reality, the load rating scale is not a linear representation of harshness. No doubt it will affect the ride and a very high rated tyre will be stiffer. However, being one or two points higher than needed won't make a difference.
If you are considering higher...
...I want to fit Michen Agilis tyres to.
Does anyone know if the 225/55 R17 109T will be ok
The tyre guide on the van shows a 235/55 R17 but I can't find an Agilis in that size.
The Agilis list a 215/60 or 235/60
If the 225's will fit ok, what tyrepressure would you recommend.
Thanks for looking
Hi I have a T6 full conversion. The wheels on it are 275/40R20.
On tyres it says MAX load 950kg and MAX pressure 50P.S.I
My question is what should my tyrepressure be ???
...picture in the central screen very similar to the door open picture however the instead it’s seems to be highlighting the area near the rear left arch/wheel. I initially thought it was a tyrepressure warning but the standard type pressure warning isn’t lit on the dash.
Does anyone have any...
Cheers @PaulR83 its nice to know its not just my setup then! I am running 255/45/18. How are you finding the 55 profile, does it make the ride any softer over the 45?
Maybe a rolling road session to check it's delivering the correct boost pressure etc.
At a guess, it could be that it isn't boosting correctly or fuelling correctly. Or a combination of the 2.
Hi folks.
I have a camper conversion T6.1.
Came with standard 16" wheels but I switched to 18" about six months ago. It's not lowered and on standard suspension too.
New wheels came with Hankook Ventus Prime 2 tyres, 255/45 R18 103H tyres.
I just checked my pressures ahead of a big road...
Never heard of an insurance company having issues with tyrepressures , but hey ho they make the rules up as they go ,
Keeping tyrepressures down is better as long as you dont carry big weight .
Is there any pressure recommendations on the tyre ?? if there is as long as you stay...
One can buy very large tyres with 16 inch rims and the larger the tyre negates the necessity for wide rimes. I have not looked into 16 inch tyres for T6 but an example of tyres I used to run on 16 inch rims with 9.00 x 16 tyres which are massive and friends with a similar vehicle had 11.00 x...
...Now im doing more track days and tweaking tyrepressures more dependant on track/weather etc i have one of the 18v dewalt units, does the same job with the added convenience of being battery powered, it also seems a bit more accurate and would say its accurate to around 0.2 psi...
I had a puncture like this a year back...lost some pressure but then held and was ok to drive....took it to tyre fitters and they dipped it in a tank and found nothing....still not holding full pressure so i took it off and put slightly more pressure in than was required and dipped it in a large...
...very soon after taking her test and could change wheels, top the correct oil, change spark plugs top up windscreen wash, check tyrepressures . She also would not be messed about at garages either. The same for my sisters one a frontline Paramedic the other a Physiotherapist. I have come...
Excellent point.
My van is fully converted so probably explains why 40psi feels much better.
It’s so noticeable I can tell when the tyres need topping up.
