    2018 204tdi Needs a new engine?

I hope you‘re getting a new DPF in the deal, the excessive oil consumption would have loaded up the DPF at best with ash.

In-use Performance Tracking. What is this?

Hi I've tried the blockmap as you suggested and just with measured values ticked the 4 you suggested returned nothing, so I added measured values. I also did a "Whole Vehicle". I've attached all the results. I hope this is useful for you. Regards Derek

    2018 T32 Sportline engine replacement

Sounds like the same issue as the CFCA (180PS) engine, odd as I thought the CXEB (204PS) engine was equipped with an stainless steel EGR cooler.

    2018 T32 Sportline engine replacement

...up as was using loads of oil. Main dealer did consumption test and it failed hugely due to widely known issue with these engines - so many things were replaced and discussed but I seem to think it was something to do with the EGR degrading causing scoring and in turn excessive oil consumption

    - 204ps Bi-Turbo CXEB T6 Engine & Turbo problems -

Hello, I bought my van from an private seller back in April 2024 and it has turned out to be one of the worst decisions ever. Less than 2 months into ownership, the VAN suffered a catastrophic failure and went into limp mode. The DPF showed readings of over 300% soot saturation with the...

Add mine to the list @Dellmassive . 2017 CXEB 65k - small turbo seized solid - replacement turbo and had DPF professional cleaned as a precaution, even though it had no signs of excessive soot. Compression test perfect and no signs of any high oil usage. Pretty sure it related to poor oil heat...

204ps Oil Consumption and EGR Delete - An attempt at a summary

I own a 180ps, no issues at all, I monitor the oil with analysis, zero consumption between oil changes. I believe that the 204ps issues are probably caused by poor oil quality caused by unburnt fuel from re-generations, excessive carbon due to leaking EGR valve combined with high boost...

    2018 204tdi Needs a new engine?

They've said they will expect everything and replace it if necessary. I'd like to think a main dealer wouldn't be stupid enough to bolt on the old EGR/DPF if both had issues. The engine management light came on just before I took it down and the EGR was struggling - they cleaned it. The DPF...

Why is my 204PS so thirsty?

I don’t know what I’ll gain if they agree the oil use is excessive. 120,000 miles. I don’t think they’ll be offering me anything on the house.

What have I gone and bought..?

If your engine has 59000 Km under it’s belt the Rev C EGR cooler may well started the cylinder wear. You’ll soon know as the oil consumption will be excessive. For reference I have a CFCA and I‘ve never needed to top up the oil. If oil consumption and cylinder pressures are good I would consider...

2017 204 oil consumption issues [Resolved]

There are three possibilities for the lost oil path assuming it is not an external leak or worn valve seals. External oil leak - very easy to eliminate by visual check. Worn valve seals - highly unlikely unless a very high milage / old van and even then the quantity lost would be less than you...

    2016 180PS Bi-TDi CFCA engine failure

As per Millers comment, ' aluminium to be at the limit', 30ppm is where Millers suggest is the upper limit before some critical action is required to avoid further bore damage
