Thanks for your reply people...much appreciated!
Think I'll get some winters fitted to the 16's.
Will there be alot of difference in side wall bounce/roll from the C commercial grade tyres I have fitted compared to a 102 load rated I can fit. Done a fair bit of google....ing and can't find a...
Been across to Steve @CRS Performance this afternoon to get my T6.1 lowered. I went with the Koni/H&R coilovers down around 70mm, keeping my davenport alloys for a while but may change at a later date.
The drive home was much better on the Koni/H&R’s, doesn’t feel like I’m on a boat now. I...
I feel your pain going through exactly the same. My top mounts failed and I found as you did the installer had used the incorrect nuts.
Changes the mounts, correct nuts, didn’t change the top plates (but have ordered some anyway) but did the top nut, changed longer drop rods as I’m on air...
This is why my company has bought my LV T6 with absolutely everything spec'd in it, I plan to keep it at 4 years old and use it as a second vehicle for work if needed.
I'll probably upgrade the Konis and lowered springs to air suspenders, definitely getting Ovano for both work use and leisure...
Special actives are self adjust on rebound and definitely cant be adjusted manually , I would have recommended Adjustable KONI for a lift application in all honesty did you tell the suppliers you were lifting it ???
I have a Cali Ocean DSG, 4 motion, not light with the family and a bit of stuff on board very close to 3 tons. My driving style is probably quicker than average without being stupid.
Bought it second hand with standard everything and pretty quickly knew I needed to do something with the...
I would appreciate a call to discuss this because some of what you talk about doesn't make sense in the suspension world , but appreciate your thoughts, all though we have never had such feed back so id like to understand more about what you feel if possible to see if there is...
Standard height we use a special Active shock that softens automatically on bad roads , brilliant £745.00 a set max comfort great handling less body roll and less pitch on braking
top class kit
Lowering also can be done very successfully with a sport shock as well...
Yeah I’m sure when I had my H&R/Koni setup fitted @CRS Performance, Steve said with the delete kit on the rear, it would go down another 15mm.... so 80mm altogether. I’m sure @ChrisR can confirm if I’ve got that right?
Thanks. The front measures 410 from top arch to centre of wheel. So hopefully, that should be okay?
My van still has original shocks and after all this strain will most likely need doing soon.
I will definitely be giving you a call!
The Koni special active sound like they'd be perfect.
Well, thanks to everyone for opinions, and information on suspension over the past few months.
In the end, I got a cracking offer from Travelinlite for the ones I decided on, which was Projekt Lows, Koni / Eibach. Ended up with meyle hd top mounts, drop links, bump stops, dust covers and the...
Any suggestions on a starting point for setting the rebound on Koni special active front shocks for a van with heavier 30mm lift springs, as they need to be removed to change the setting and I definitely don't what to have to do that!
Yes the problem KONI had in UK was that they supplied Andrew Paige and they didn't promote or push KONI . Bilstein had same issue but woke up and took the distribution back into their own hands and the results of this shows because specialists are now pushing the [produst,,
Koni is...
Those kits are from the B14 stable and they all suffer with the same problem. The shocks are too long for the drops they can do , and the arb brackets are in the wrong place. The H and R kit is streets ahead in performance and engineering , same money which seems to make a mockery of them in...
Hi, I'm getting the same roll bars fitted to my van. What difference did they make to your van? Interested I'm already running h&r springs and koni shocks.
I spent 5 hours tinkering with the van yesterday including going back to the garage that fitted the shocks for me. Things I learned:
1. The garage used the incorrect nut in location 9 below.
The correct VW OEM part looks like this and is ~16mm tall:
The part the garage used (despite...
@CRS Performance do the Koni Active dampers work equally well with the Sportline 30mm Eibach springs? I have these fitted on my T6 and the ride is noticeably worse than my T5 which also had factory dampers but had the 40mm H&R springs. I’d like to go with the Koni product but need to weigh up...
I haven’t driven them yet, but I’m seeing Steve on Wednesday. I’ve got to be up Birmingham way on Wednesday anyway so I can tie it all in at the same time. I would’ve definitely taken your offer otherwise, cheers.
