Flashing coil light start/stop error P164B

Varied. Bought Carista and forced DPF regeneration, soot level got down low but wasn't that high to start with. That hasn't fixed it, coil light back on. Same fault code for oil pressure switch. Very frustrating

2017 204 oil consumption issues [Resolved]

So what would you suggest? If I get a new engine, delete the EGR before it can do its damage?

    T6.1 Reduce Oil warning

Can’t help with the radio stations, mine has always been ok for that. The forum may have a good thread though.

    T6.1 Reduce Oil warning

Physically checked the dipstick before we left and it was below the max (albeit just!) the increase in volume is why we thought maybe it was the heat as the van hadn’t moved in a couple days and the temp hasn’t gone below 25 day or night. It’s still a touch over max today so just going to call...

    T6.1 Cylinder 3 pressure fault?

This is now throwing the MIL light so booked into Breeze on the 21st. Let’s see… also getting oil level too high message.

A recurring oil issue on T6,1.

Hi everyone I really need some advise as I’m clueless and just the designated driver of T6,1 2021, 2.0 TDI, 12k miles After several hundred miles of motorway driving (2hrs / 1hr break / 2hrs) a warning light came on: ‘Oil level too high: workshop!’ I left it overnight and dipstick indicates...

DPF Regen Frequency / Issues / Force discussion.

Hello!! After reading the entire thread about DPF issues, I still have some doubts. My vehicle is a T6 199hp DSG 4Motion, year 2019, with 90k miles. I monitor the regenerations with Carista and VAG DPF, and it performs them approximately every 300km. I don’t have any warning lights on or errors...

Regrets, have you had a few....or is it too few to mention...

...some time in to see how to manage or fix the problem, only then did I see the large amount of posts regarding DPF regeneration and high oil levels. My thoughts are that the van was probably only used for short journeys around town, the dealer selling the van probably did a minimum of checks...

Oil Analysis shows high levels of Iron

After worrying my oil consumption was high on our 204 I sent a sample off to get tested. The key results were High soot at 2.4% Iron at 163ppm Molybdenum at 63ppm Boron at 21ppm However in the comments it was deemed that wear metals were satisfactory but the soot level is critical. Is the...

T6.1 BiTDI 204 power at higher ambient temperature

Very thin oil will not fill "the gaps" like more viscous oil and can result in a lack of compression. (In old knackered engines, running thicker oil can bring up the compression in old worn engines.) The thin air at 1500m above sea level could also be a factor insofar that there is less oxygen...

    2016 180PS Bi-TDi CFCA engine failure

I sent my oil sample off to Millers last week and received the results today, the soot level is high and high silicon and aluminium, the engine runs fine with no high oil consumption just over 1/2 litre in a year 11 k miles, Probably now at a critical point to take action before any real...

    I'm in!!!

...out at 190k) Looking forward to studying the huge amount of information on here to help me make my choices! Already had a rude introduction to DPF Regeneration and high oil levels, only had it a week!!!! Hopefully it was just due to the previous operators error (it has very low miles at £2k)...

    Regen frequency help!!

Hoping somebody has some ideas… I have a transporter T6 high line 16 plate (euro 6) Recently had the air intake manifold replaced due to fault ‘30535 - Intake Manifold- Runner Position- Sensor/Switch- Circuit: Range/Performance’ It was really clogged up. Before replacing it, the regens were...

Engine Oil testing - soot levels

A Caution level is around 1%, 2.7% is pretty high but what’s done is done. It might indicate that the EGR is not sealing and there is a constant flow AND / OR there are too many failed DPF re-generations. Maybe consider reducing the oil change interval to less than 12K miles. As a comparison I...

Oil level too high warning… AGAIN

...oil results in approx 5% increase in volume / 100 deg C temp rise. So with 7.4L volume and a temperature differential of 80 deg C the volume will increase by approx‘ 0.3L. Given that the oil will be distributed around the engine when running I doubt that this will trigger a high oil level...

    VW Service waiting times

I think you have a problem with the engine, that’s high oil consumption. If the oil is not leaking externally it is being burnt which isn’t helping with the DPF soot levels.

DPF Dilemma and the van is stranded. Any ideas?

Very weird that there hasn't been any fault codes, but I think I have dodgy map from the previous owner. The van previously had heavy black smoke under load, especially going up hills. It later got much worse: it started and ran very rough, would barely rev past around 1,500 rpm, and produced a...
