The engines for T6.1 are obviously configured differently - got curious because quite some time ago at VW when they started to struggle with "over fill issue" they mentioned that oil capacity in T6.1 engines is less than it was on T6.
Did just some checks -
The oil sump and oillevel sensor are...
Search with ‘oillevel’, this is a common issue and you’ll find the answers there.
How much ‘slightly above max’?
Google Translate will get you through any language issues, even if it doesn’t it should be obvious that you need an oil change / level reduction.
oillevel was way too high, - maybe it was overfilled, thats an easy fix. which you done. ( cheap easy fix, but keep an eye on the level to make sure its not going up again, from coolant or diesel in the oil, what the water level too.)
leak in crank seal/pump - this will leak oil, so can you...
Update - VW Swindon changed the oil and updated the software after the AA drained oillevel back to 3/4. Took a lot of arguing to get them to do the work under warranty, but eventually did it for free. They said it was due to lots of short journeys so the oil temp doesn’t get hot enough to...
This is all really interesting. Here is my oil analysis from March. This was as I picked the van up. Since then its had a flush, three oil changes, and new dpf and a blocked and mapped out egr. Based on the service history the oil had only done a 6k miles. Miller's guy said
"As you are...
Your initial test with the 4000? oil miles isn’t helping with any accurate predictions as accurate running hours or in this case oil milage is important.
Regardless of that the contamination levels of Iron and Alum’ remain quite high.
Have you had a cylinder compression test?
Maybe worth using a...
I would keep a real good look at your regen frequency when you get it back with the new turbos on, the soot levels don't give a proper insight on how blocked the DPF can be with burnt oil and whatever else is in there. Mine went through the regens fine with 24g at the start and 6g at the end but...
I had this too this weekend past. I was going over the Mendip hills, up and down really steep ones, then 5 miles later while on the flat it came up with OILLEVEL TOO HIGH. It was the first use in a week. The van was serviced and MOT,d within the last 5 month. Now I am concerned. what do I do? I...
Agreed. Yes the EGR (an A ) is now blanked and mapped out by Retro Resus.
First oil analysis was when I first bought it and Millers said the oil was very old so hard to tell.
"As you are probably aware, with the VW 2.0 L BiTDI 180 hp CFCA engine as used in your Caravelle, the issue we...
Mine has been checked 4 times by vw over a 6 month period and it’s never had highoillevels. I was present at the time of checking, and also stood and watched when they changed the oil.
As per Millers comment, ' aluminium to be at the limit', 30ppm is where Millers suggest is the upper limit before some critical action is required to avoid further bore damage
Currently in discussion with my local van centre regarding the highoillevel warning. They are claiming that the oil is overfilled. The oil is at the top of the hatched area on the dipstick which when looking at the manual seems acceptable. The van is a 2020 T6.1 110. They claim the oil needs...
We have this after the last service, VW have advised it needs a Software update to fix, but they don't know which one. So it will have to go back in when they have been advised.. If that helps. T6.1 21 plate
Dual mass flywheel (and therefore clutches really) seem a huge issue with VW transporters. Oillevel increases seem pretty big and I have that in the golf.
Definitely an empowers new clothes type vehicle - people think it’s better because it cost more. That keeps resale high and owners not...
Hey all...
So my DPF is now critically full (soot close to 60g, oil ash 85g).
The glow plug light is flashing and the engine management light is on. Significant loss of power.
I can't force a regen... I think the DPF is now too full and I guess the flashing glow plug light is preventing the...
All sorted, then half way back the add blue light top up flashed up. There is literally nothing the dealership has done apart from the bare minimum even before I bought it 2 months ago
I’m not sure anyone stands out as an EV supporter but we can see they have their purposes as part of the answer.
Likewise I could say have any of the I've supporters considered the damage caused at drilling sites and that oil sales support Putins war (isn’t that why the West stopped buying it...
Here's my experience... Transporter 150ps - manual 4Mo - Highline roughly 9000 on the clock. Just returned from 7 weeks driving (fully loaded including a couple of bikes) in the French/Austrian/German and Italian Alps. Had the van serviced just before we went away. No probs 200 miles to Dover...
Dec 70 plate 150 dsg highline here. Happen to me after first 2 oil changes but as posted by that california video guy - I also noticed the expansion from cold to hot engine from 1/2 oil stick to almost max so i just adjusted oillevel to 3/5 ish(cold) on stick and it's been fine ever since. I...
