Hoping it might be useful to share my experience so far and progress towards fixing it myself - I'm adamant VW are not making a penny out of me for a problem that they engineered in and made especially tedious to fix....
In the first case, both of these videos were helpful to my understanding...
I have the same set up as you banksey88, Sargent EC155, sterling B to B1230 and solar mppt. I changed over to a lithium battery before last summer. I changed the charging profile of the Sterling B to B and the mppt. I left the Sargent as it is . The lithium leisure battery charges up fine. I...
We have charged our AGM battery through the Sargent on EHU for 6 years, they took the charge no problem. We are getting 2 batteries fitted next week (one to replace the current battery under the passenger’s seat and one additional one under the drivers seat). Do you find the 2 AGMs give you...
...the sargent charging fuse and fitted a Sterling Dc Dc charger unit with Solar input. The Sterling unit allows to set battery profiles, agm, lithium etc. It also manages the Solar input and alternator charging. I use a portable folding solar panel. I also have +ve and -ve tails from battery to...
I am not an expert, but your battery choice is lithium, and AI says this:
Lithium (LiFePO4) batteries charge optimally at 20–50% of capacity. For my 100Ah battery as an example:
0.5C = 50A — This is the typical maximum recommended charge current for everyday use
0.3C = 30A — The "sweet spot"...

The electrics are a bit dated. I had a Lithium and chargers installed elsewhere.
Also the elevating roof isn't very suitable for solar when it is up, it's a lot steeper than a standard or reverse...
...6 LED lights
Vunked show this as 62.0 Ah/day
Q. Does that sound about right?
The spec that I have come up with is as follows:
230Ah Lithium Battery Fogstar Drift
30A Victron DC-DC Charger system
Victron 20A Battery Charger System
No solar
Vunked shows this as giving me 4.4 days off...
...a bit of a faff. I’m looking to do a permanent, tidy install on my T6 and run the Starlink directly from my leisure battery (290Ah Fogstar lithium, 185W solar), so no inverter or 230V plug involved. The plan is:
Battery → Fuse → Switch → DC-DC boost converter → cable through waterproof roof...
...the load output Via the battery...
When the battery starts running flat the controller will switch off the load output and save the battery from dropping too low.
More so for AGM/Sli battery's that will be damaged if they drop to low in voltage.
Not so important for modern lithium battery's.
Sounds like a good setup, 230ah battery Wow we are on 100ah lithium no solar on top, I can only dream, we are in a sw base LeisureDrive and on the three months last year used 6 R907 cylinders and that was nothing only the fridge, this year we are fitting a compressor fridge so as to get Away...
...from starter to 3 way fridge that was controlled with a ignition live cable so only ran fridge when ignition on and a 10mm2 to dc-dc for lithium battery.
Now I am on a compressor fridge will be wiring it to the leisure battery.
So question is the 6mm2 cable that used to go to 3way fridge can...

- The second item was a really expensive travel mug:
Fortunately the mug came with a free Roamer 144ah SMART5 Lithium battery 😂.
Its still on back order and should be here for mid March.
The battery came in at £479 with the free electrical consultation...
Hi guys,
Does this 1200w inverter look like it has enough space? The black tray behind it will be a 280ah lithium battery. And then the black panel will have the usual chargers etc.
Is ventilation sufficient? And does anyone know if it exhausts where the cables go in, of the back?
Thanks...
