    Turbo not right

You just answered my previous question, almost undoubtably so depending on how you drive it. More power requires more fuel, more exhaust gases, higher turbocharger RPM. Less reliability, keep on top of the oil changes.

    Solow low

There should be enough resistance in that damper for the piston to return to full length. Looks like it’s failed and you’ve lost oil. A new one is required. It’s also missing the adjuster sleeve and possibly the piston seal.

    Dreaded oil pressure switches

I'm having the same. 2016 T6 180k. Oil was stringy and lumpy so injector seals were replaced. Oil regulator and pressure sensors replaced. Coil light still appearing. Only stopping engine and restarting when it's warm will get it out of limp mode. Praying somebody here finds a solution!

    Crank seal replacement

Hi DXX, I've just had my 35k '20 plate 6.1 back from service MOT, with an advisory on the crank seal. Is this something that should be carried out immediately? Can it be monitored by keeping an close eye on the oil level, it hasn't used any?? I was intending to replace the cam belt/water pump...

Leaking near engine/gearbox - buy or not?

Thank you for the advice! I didn't pay attention to that! I appreciate your answer! I wonder how such a leaking problem could have arisen, what could be the reason? Lack of service, defective part since the beginning?

    5 speed Gearbox oil change

I am not a mechanic, so please don't take this as an advice. But common sense says that environmental conditions (hot - cold) and ageing would change the characteristics of your oil much more than 75W vs 80W. Think of noth Italy in winter (Alps) and South Italy in summer (Sardinia). You get...

Visit to dealer for brake fluid. Should I do aircon at same time?

Google Foo...... Car air conditioning systems typically need a recharge (or "regas") every 2 to 3 years to maintain efficiency, as refrigerant gas naturally permeates through the system over time. While many manufacturers suggest a biennial service, you may not need it that often if the AC...

Looking to buy. Is this a high mileage for the price?

well i asked for some money off but it was a flat 'no'. so i guess they know there's not loads out there. even a token £500 off could seal a deal so i never see the sense in that.

    Oil change

I do not find RS Pro tools particularly good BTW. They are the own brand of RS, probably globally sourced stuff, nothing special. I would trust more the usual Europen tool brnds, Wera, Wiha, Gedore, Usag... Just saying, I do not think the oil drain plug is critical at all. This is a low...

Electric Car Jack bought on eBay

In January this year I 2025 bought an Electric Car Jack with Tire Inflator Pump 5 Ton 12V LED Hydraulic Car Jack Lift on eBay. I think I had used it on only 3 occasions. Oil started leaking from the Jack when I was trying to lift the back nearside wheel of my T6. 10mins before I had lifted the...

    - 204ps Bi-Turbo CXEB T6 Engine & Turbo problems -

I have an early 2018 CXEB that has used an "unknown" amount of oil in 900 miles. It was filled to approx 2/3rds full when having the oil sensor changed for another ongoing issue which it unfortunatley didn't resolve and now it's dead on the min line. If VW specs is a max of 500ml per 621 miles...

4motion rear diff oil change... anyone doing this ??

Is anyone changing the rear diff oil on a 4motion? I'm not talking about the Haldex oil. I bought a 2018 T6 T32 LWB Kombi, 4motion, 204hp, DSG with VW FSH, 39k miles from a small trader in Dec 2023. 3 weeks later I popped into my local van centre and they offered me a warranty/service...

    - 204ps Bi-Turbo CXEB T6 Engine & Turbo problems -

Have a Search on the Forum, somebody has done it already. As to where to locate on my CFCA the only space is above the belts. Make sure you don’t kink any hoses or you could over pressurise the crankcase and damage a crankshaft seal. If it is the bores the additional blow-by maybe more than the...
