We have a 2017 ex RAC van that has done around 133,000 miles, the service history printout said that the engine was changed at 101,000 miles. I have to fit an alternator this week and wondered if the toothed belt and water pump needed to be done whilst I have the van in service mode?

Hi all, I'm about to fit the floor to my ex-RAC van, and there's a couple of bolts that stand proud holding some kind of brace. I just want to double check that this is some remnant from the RAC (presumably to solidify the floor where their equipment was) and not some structural member before...

My only observation would be that I would NEVER buy any vehicle until I'd had a test drive of it, yet that's going to be difficult if it's still SORN'd.

Mine same my head unit not working and looking for swap as well, finished clean up of my ex rac stuff and will look into reverse camera and etc with head unit was thinking about halo 9 alpine but not yet as too expensive Other what i was looking its to replace top mirror as not working and look...

How did you get on finding a replacement? Doing the same to my ex-rac as we speak, but eBay prices for replacement are mental!! Did you try the VW replacement parts link posted above? Looking at the photo on the website, the part looked a bit damaged so skeptical about what I’ll receive.

what colour did you spray your panels under the lights, i tried the paint code on ex rac van it was no where near van colour

AUX battery was not factory fitted it was a retro by the RAC I stripped it all out.

...for £440… never heard of them so assuming too cheap? Anyone got any other options or recommendations for a decent part? Also, will I be causing damage if I continue using the van? Or should I limit mileage until it’s fixed? It’s a 66 reg ex RAC van 150 with DSG and about 143k on the clock.

Really use racT6bus.....thank you......i found with mine removing the heater control panel which was 2 screws allowed better access to the single 8mm nut.....removed the switches and rac fit metal bracket.....i then found the wires were trapped so pryed out the little cubby hole with the 12v...
