Yeah, with a victron dc-dc to charge on the move and a mppt and solar it lasted off grid ok but not great hence doubling up but no problems charging on EHU from the Sargent whatever it said
My Sargent EC155 isn't charging the Fogstar Lithium battery. I've checked the 15amp charger fuse on the Sargent and all the switches are up on the breaker. Read another post on here that says probably easier to install a direct charge solution as, the charger function of the Sargent is...
Interesting setup, thanks for sharing. I have gone to the same Victron and next will be a lithium. I was completely unaware of issues with the Sargent and lithium. I guess you could hardwire a better / smarter charger into the Sargent and connect that to the lithium? I use the Ablemail AMT for B2B.

...option but just trying to understand what work is in involved to achieve this.
My leisure battery is located under my driver seat, I have a Sargent EC155 unit for my mains charger (located in back cupboard), Sterling BB1230 B2B charger and a Victron MPPT solar charger. I believe I can change...
...a similar problem with me van.
Normal day, start the van, all fine drive to work fine. Sat outside work letting it idle a couple of minutes, Sargent panel starts beeping!
Strange.
Another day, start the van, Sargent panel bleeps, immediately check my Victrin stuff incase of a low voltage but...
Hi all.
My Sargent DC-DC DX320-12 has started emitting two beeps every 30 seconds ds with the fan starting up, the leisure battery light flashing red twoce with the beeps and then all four lights lighting up. Van is ran regularly, with nothing that uses the leisure battery being used. Solar PV...
Many, if not the majority of 12V related issues on here, especially LB problems, usually have “Sargent” in the post.

...and wired up a
Victron Energy VE.Direct to Bluetooth Smart Dongle to the existing BMV 700. Oh, and taken out the battery charger fuse on the Sargent - so that part of the Sargent is now defunct. This now works perfectly for my use and runs the fridge for a few days with no need for mains...
...to some actually downgraded batteries but doubled up, now have 2 x 110ah normal batteries instead of one 95 ah AGM (which wasn’t suitable for the Sargent either). Not as funky as lithium but should do the job needed at a fraction of the cost and now still have over double the previous capacity
...put this politely...... disabling it.
Any ideas? The only way I can force the same thing to happen is removing one of the 2 earth's from the Sargent unit, but the wiring appears good and with the circuit active is showing no voltage drop using a meter between the unit and leisure battery on...
I think the point is; for what victron provides it’s definitely the better option but if you remove that functionality from the Sargent then what is left is still a very neat package which I don’t think is readily available elsewhere as an off the shelf solution. There are plenty of examples on...
That Sargent unit is for lead acid so the Victron with the ability to charge lithium too makes more sense long term, especially if your present leisure battery has carked and whether a new, more efficient, lithium Black Friday bargain/Christmas present is in the mix.
