Quite a lot of bits are replace when removed these days to be fair.
VW ExtendedWarranty won't pay out unless every 'to be replaced' part, is replaced (bolts / seals etc)
...the all-in package, as the funds are paid direct to vwfs.
So there is no incentive for them to get on top of it.
They do however, earn money when you take your van back to them and get work done under said extendedwarranty as vwfs will pay them directly for any warranty work that is approved.
My extendedwarranty comes to an end at the end of May 24. I asked Listers Coventry Van centre for options not expecting much.
Their new offer is 3 years, £1360 which includes a 2 hour £300 MPC inspection. £36 a month over 3 years I consider that to be a no brainer but I have to pay up front...
I doubt VW extendedwarranty would cover after market windows in any way.
Mine's still in the initial 3 year warranty but I won't be extending it. Had a warranty fix recently and while they did eventually fettle the fairly minor issue it was a fairly awful customer experience.
...(Why couldn’t I find it when I searched for warranty questions earlier???)
Interesting.
From what I understand, you bought your extendedwarranty on-line when prompted by a VW email. Is that correct?
Maybe I’ll get an email - or maybe not as it wasn’t me that bought the van from new...
Most motorhome builders do it. My Chausson had a separate VIN as well.
The issue we have is the vehicle is registered as a Weinsberg not a VW. Hence why we cannot get a service plan or extendedwarranty.
So - YES the spring is covered under the extendedwarranty - :) But VW have looked at the van and there is an oil 'weep' from the crankshaft seal. Guess what - that is not covered by the extendedwarranty 😤. They say it is not too bad so could be left and watched. Funny how a £200 spring is...
I had mine done. At the time.
But didn't make any noticeable difference.
But as you say, best to keep them happy when you have the extendedwarranty.
Though saying that. I doubt it would be a problem if you politely declined the offer.... The AC is a sealed system, if it works, then you are...
you get 3years warranty from new with breakdown assist cover.
from new you can get a two year factory warranty for years 4+5.
or you can get ALL-IN cover from years 4-6 (max 6yrs old or 100k at start of policy)
....
each of the above covers have there own specific requirements and policy...
Hi All
2019 t6 Kombi -- generally shorter journeys over the last 2 years or so. regularly serviced by VW extendedwarranty ended June last year.
2 previous flushes
Just before the extendedwarranty ended engine light came on and had a mobile VW mechanic come out he did a minor service and...
...a long distance to operate with the warning present. I’ve asked VW to confirm whether this history could affect eligibility for any extendedwarranty I might purchase.
I’d be interested to know whether other owners see a non-zero value for this parameter in VCDS scans, and—most...
...(tested at 15bar - fail point is 19bar)
"new long-block engine + cat + dpf + lambda sensor" all fitted by VW under the ALL-IN extendedwarranty (around £20k worth of work)
thank god for the extendedwarranty and me catching the symptoms early.
it took 4 months for the whole process, but VW...
