    DIESEL HEATER FITTING - BRISTOL

...else’s diesel heater while travelling, yes it worked when they bought it but what a terrible installation; hole in the floor 1.5x bigger than needed, air hose chafed through on rough edges as no floor grommet, fuel hose chafing and electrics unsupported and broken. Looked like a 5 year old...

    r6pauls T6.1 day van build

...case - £95) At the moment the charging wire hangs across but my plan in the near future is to drill a hole in the surround/trim and put a grommet in to hook it up to the cars electrics so that it runs off an ignition live feed and the wiring is hidden. I will say though that I've been on...

Fixed solar upgrade. Flexi or rigid?

Thanks! The cable is run down and through the rear light cluster grommet so no need to drill any holes. I’m based in West Sussex on the south coast.

External connection point to plug a portable solar panel into.

I ran cables from the back of the battery, alongside my DC-DC charger cable through the grommet in the bulkhead, through the cable cover under the central column to come up under the driver's side seat. I used MC4 connectors under the bonnet as they are waterproof, but I was doing it again, I'd...

    Holes from spoiler removal

...anyway with paint loss, so I might just take it off so I can have a standard carrier. Has anyone got any photos of the holes that are left behind, and where abouts they are. That way I can be prepared with some grommets or something before I do it and get left scrambling for something to...

    Leaking NS Driveshaft

Pop the bonnet battery side on the bulkhead there's a grommet with a spout t check there see if you can see water coming out and tracking down to where it is. More than likely Aircon condensate if it's watery.

    Quality mud flaps?

...them and will not fail. If I remember correctly, they use existing holes, but I did use a riv-nut in the underneath hole instead of the rubber grommet that came with them. For the rear, I have fitted moulded ones, but I can’t remember whether I had to drill a hole in the wheel arch liner for...

    Badjamins van conversion

Some electrical updates. Got the 16mm feed from starterbattery through the grommet but the chunk AF H07RN cable wasn't happening. As you can see we managed to get it through the upper part but on trying to reinstall access panel it seems that bit needs to be clear to accept the panel so will be...

    Looking for part

I think the earlier post #3 thought you were dealing with a tandem HPFP. I guess you are referring to the vacuum pump? Is that the location of the grommet / bush? If so it maybe part of the vacuum pipe and only available from VW. Worth giving VW parts dept a call.

    Top Engine Cover

If you get a chance - what orientation are your rubber grommets at the top? I fitted them with the nut end downwards as the threads are only on the other end.

    Top Engine Cover

Yeh. I have to drop the front of the cover below into the space in front of the engine first then slot it back up onto the grommets. It's tight on the slot in the grommets but doesn't seem to be wide enough to meet the front hole on the slam panel. I can move the washer bottle funnel so that is...

    Top Engine Cover

...on their T6? I tried fitting it with the fitting kit provided but there seems to be a big gap at the front when it's slotted into the rubber grommets at the back/top. If I align it at the front it doesn't stay on the grommets. It's about 20mm out/off at the front if I fully put it onto the...

    Stealth Flap Or Alternative ??

...too tall. Aluminium strip is 4mm stock from amazon. Arctic blue cable goes through a factory drilled hole under the light with addition of a grommet. Fitted hinges to van first & then to flap. Location of hinge most difficult part. Previous incarnation hookup was under bonnet but decided to...

A couple of solar panels going £120 cheap(er)

...size, I didn't fit the MC4's directly to the end of the panel cable so I could keep the size of hole in the metalwork down to a size I could get a grommet for and I can remove the cable without needing to remove the connector(s), I think it's a 13mm hole and the XT60 passes through this no...

A couple of solar panels going £120 cheap(er)

Interesting, but doesn't the panel come with MC4 connectors? Have you cut those off? I don't get the. benefit of putting that XT60 plug on rather than refitting MC4 connectors after the wire is passed through the hole. Because then you have had to make an adapter cable with XT60 to MC4...
