Just realised i can't route the cable through this grommet because the plate has to go back.
Back to square one. How to get the cable of 23mm through the firewall behind the battery.
The grommets are too small.
I've found the larger grommet by removing the plate connected to the scuttle bay.
Problem now is the grommet won't stay in place.
It's a bit worn, maybe a new grommet will do it but haven't got one.
Superglue, gaffa?
Hi, i'm trying to install an Ecoflow alternator charger in my T6. The problem is routing the large cable through the fire wall grommets.
The cable is too large.
Has anyone done this successfully? Is there a larger grommet through the firewall?
Thanks!!
...domed covers.
The 4x cups that sit under the holding down screws are mega expensive, I didn’t find any substitutes so I painted them as the plating is crap. They are hidden under rubber grommets.
There may be better sinks but I doubt it, the mobile home market doesn’t seem to demand high quality.
...end and put a socket. Before putting the socket on i threaded the cable from under the passenger seat, under the floor covering and found a grommet into the bulkhead, then reattached the socket and placed next to the battery. The bank of sockets etc stay coiled under the passenger seat ready...

FWIW you can remove the rear cluster and trims below quite easily (two screws and a couple plastic push rivets) then where the wiring enters the body theres a large grommet that pops out and gives you easy access to get cables inside and jointed in the dry, will see if i can dig out any...
...check of all the obvious revealed near side side repeater not working. Soldered, heatshrink and whilst not a perfect fit, a 25mm round grommet in the inner wing will prevent a reoccurance.
i didnt however completely remove the scuttle. just popped it up a little bit by the battery, which was...
That'll be the little trim clip that attaches to the rear of the A pillar tim and locates in the yellowish grommet.
Someone will know the P/N, they wont cost much. Remove the trim in full, partially detach the door weatherstrip, and maybe pop off the left side kick panel and youll likely find it.
Just had same issue. There is a soft rubber drain, the hole had closed up. Squeeze to re open. Left of batter in back wall. Lower right of photo, round rubber grommet.
It doesn’t specifically say where to route the cable under the vehicle , just the grommets to replace to enter the steering column and battery connections . I guess what I’m asking is from towbar itself the best route to the engine bay .
...the connect the panels in the middle and fixate the trailing edge. Tomorrow to the shop for some mc4 connectors, 3d print a couple of tpu grommets for the sharp edges in the feed holes inside and connect it to the mppt.
Next time there is a power outage in Amsterdam we can hook up this thing...
Thankyou for your reply. Something I wasn't aware about. I also live in Bristol so will probably contact one of the recommended companies above for a quote. I was just trying to see how much extra on top of the outlay for the van I would need to pay. Will also require a tow bar at some point...
