Battery replaced a couple of months ago. Start stop was ok last time I let it work. I normally turn it off because when the engine stops it turns off my rear camera, just when you would want it if someone drives into the back of you.

Does your stop/start still work just incase the starter battery is on the way out?

Yes, it's an Optimate trickle charger, can't overcharge. The battery is working fine, it's just the stop-start that's intermittent. I didn't code the battery on installation and don't have the equipment to do that, maybe that is the cause of the stop-start issue.

Stop start is fussy and TBH is better when it doesn’t work. All sorts of factors can affect when it works, or doesn’t. If it kicks in occasionally, it’ll be reyt ;)

Can the link between start/stop and the radar be disabled? In traffic my t6.1 starts up when the vehicle in front moves, even if its only a few inches, I’m then sat there with the engine on for no reason. My Passat only re-starts when I depress the clutch, which I prefer.

Correction, as my battery went low while fitting and messing and I charged it... It took a few journeys before it started working again. All good now starting the stop starting :)

Also just on a google search heat soak does seem to cause issues with the tuning boxes potentially stopping the van from starting. So that could be the the reason it wouldn’t start until the box was removed
